"We know what we are, but not what we may be." ~William Shakespeare

Radiance's POV

All anxiousness was gone as I let my golden paws take me away. Although it was only five days since I last ran, I felt as if it was an eternity. Evan, Lucas' wolf was by my side, and I could feel how equally happy he was for coming. It felt amazing, the wind slapping me across the face, my white fur thrown back by how fast I was running, my mate besides me. These things were enough to fulfill Stella's needs. We soon came to a stop, both of us panting heavily. I have no idea how much time we were out, but the sun was setting, so it had to be more than an hour.

"You okay?"

I jumped slightly when I heard Lucas' voice in my mind.

"Yea. We should head back, it's getting dark."

We started walking back, the soothing silence of the forest engulfing us. We arrived back to the pack and I mind linked him again.

"Lucas we don't have clothes. How are we going to get back?" I asked.

"I told Derek to prepare clothes for us. Don't worry about it."

Like he said, a pile of clothes was waiting for us on a bench at the entrance of the woods. I took the ones destined for me between my teeth and walked towards a tree. I shifted behind it and slipped them on. It was one over-sized black shirt and a white short that were barely visible under it. I walked out and joined Lucas. He was wearing a jogging, and was slipping on his shirt. I watched his arm muscles as they bulged when he put it on. His eyes shamelessly roamed over my body, causing me to blush and play with the hem of my tee. He took my hand and led me up the stairs to his room once again.
We sat on his bed, an awkward silence filling the air as no one spoke.
A bit later, we started talking about everything, from our favorite food to our most personal memories.

"When I was a kid, I was scared of the dark." He admitted and I burst out laughing. "Stop laughing! It's not funny!" He smacked my arm, and joined in the laughter. "So my mum used to sing this lullaby."

"Sing it to me." I ordered.

"Okay baby girl." He winked making me blush. He cleared his throat.

"This little girl could just not sleep
FFor her thoughts were way too deep..."
I tuned out, my eyes widening. This lullaby was the one that kept me alive all those years, and helped me stay strong through hard times. A wave of memories washed over me, as I remembered my mother tucking me into bed, and singing these words, and then whispering soothing terms in my ears.

"What's wrong Radiance?" Lucas asked, but his voice was barely audible as I was too caught up with the memories coming back and slapping me across the face. I was staring ahead, not uttering a word.

By now, Lucas was shaking me by my shoulders. I finally snapped out of my trance, and looked at Lucas.

"Radiance are you okay? What happened? What were you doing?" He rambled.

"You reminded me of my mom." I said.

I can't remember the last time I thought of my mom. I always think of her quotes, but not of her. It's been so long since I last pictured her face, and looked back at the past. I hugged Lucas, confusing him even more.

"Thank you for that." I whispered.
