"Well, at least she's kinda hot," Calista remarked, gaining a mixture of laughs along with a sound of protest from Steven. They were all sprawled in a circle on beach chairs and inflatables, awaiting what Belly called her surprise.

As they waited, Reed, Nicole's cousin, joined the group, sparking playful banter with Calista that made Conrad's eyebrows furrow. He brushed it off as nothing, but secretly, Conrad felt a bit of jealousy. Reed seemed to be asking Calista all sorts of questions, and Conrad couldn't help but jump in with answers every now and then, trying to stay in the conversation.

Calista noticed Conrad's behavior, but knew he was just upset about his father showing up.

His actions also gained the attention of Nicole, who looked between Calista and Conrad. She knew about their past, and couldn't help but feel intimidated by the girl who sat next to the guy she liked. Even if it was also obvious that her cousin had a thing for her.

Interrupting another round of questioning, Belly made her entrance, descending the beach steps. "May I present," she announced dramatically, "The Belly special!" She sat down on the of the inflatables, "its a pomegranate margarita," she announced placing the drink down with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "But with a twist."

Conrad wasted no time in grabbing the flask, offering it to Calista with a playful grin. She hesitated for a moment before accepting, her lips curving into a smile as she agreed to give Belly's creation a try.

Just then, Jere appeared, accompanied by Cam Cameron. "Hey guys look who I found!"

Belly, clearly tipsy, greeted Cam enthusiastically, but his polite refusal to drink was met with understanding nods from the group.

Calista made a mental note to keep an eye on Belly's alcohol intake for the rest of the evening as she lowered her own cup. Stuff might've happened between them, but she would still make sure she stayed safe.

As everyone settled in, Conrad's attempts at flirtation were met with a subtle signal from Calista to tone it down. She couldn't help but feel Nicole's gaze, knowing whatever was happening between her and Conrad hadn't been talked about between them.

Nicole, noticing Conrad's rapid drinking, chimed in with a flirtatious comment, attempting to steer his attention. "Its not a race Con," she laughed.

But Calista couldn't shake the memory of how little Conrad had drunk the last summer they were together, it caused another nagging suspicion that tugged at her thoughts.
