" your hair grew longer "

Dad says, he glances at me and strokes my hair with his finger while his other hand is placed in the steering wheel. I smiled and looked down at it

" yeah, I haven't cut it since I was eight. Because I remember you telling me that having this hair is rare " I explained and sat back in the seat as Dad chuckled at me

"So, you do remember what I told you huh? " he playfully said making me giggle.

I look out in the window again and watch as the houses and structures pass by. Oh, how I missed forks.

" by the way, if you want. We can watch football this Tuesday afternoon, what do you think, kiddo? " Dad offers

and I can't help but not to roll my eyes when he still uses the nickname on me

"I would like to catch up with things with you again " I replied, causing Dad's smile to grow.

It's been two years since I last visited Dad.

I got busier in high school, and he understands.

Although I made sure to call him every day and send him pictures and messages for an update. When the car rolled into the driveway, I walked out and shut the car behind me

" Welcome back to Forks, Bella," I said while chuckling as she playfully rolled her eyes at me and continued holding the cactus plant In her hand

" I don't know if it's a good idea that I came back here— "

" shh! Before you say your words, let's go outside and I'll show you your old bedroom! " I cheerfully said and grabbed her hand, pulling her inside the house as we headed upstairs.

Dad followed us behind as I opened her old room door and open it

Bella only chuckles and walks inside, her eyes roaming around the place. Dad and I stood outside in the doorway as I smiled at her

"I didn't touch any of your stuff, I only cleaned it... I also changed your bed sheet, purple's your favorite color, right? " he asks making me chuckle secretly.

If Bella could only appreciate how Dad is trying to make her feel at home again

Anyway, Dad helped me pull down the stairs from the attic as I carefully watched my steps at the wooden stairs and finally came back to my old room.

It's small yet cozy, as I noticed that Dad added some fairy lights on the wall and small furniture around the room

It's small yet cozy, as I noticed that Dad added some fairy lights on the wall and small furniture around the room.

" Hey, you do remember the bunny stuff toy I gave you? " I heard him ask behind me as he took a seat on the couch

I placed my luggage on my bed and opened it. Taking out the white bunny and faced him.

" Never left her " I replied making him smile.

" oh, Stells. It's good to have you back here, I missed having someone annoy me around, and constantly make the house feel more alive " Dad continues making my heart melt with his words. I walked to him and embraced him tightly on the couch.

Making Dad chuckle and hug me back, he then playfully scrunches his face and sniffles my hair

" did you shower before you got here? Because you smell like—! "

Before I can let him finish, I playfully slap his arm causing him to laugh loudly and throw his head back

"Seriously, I smell? " I asked and sniffled my clothes.

" just kidding. I'll go downstairs and give you time to unpack your things "

I started putting my clothes inside my closet and after a half hour of unpacking, I was exhausted.

I lay on my back on the bed, staring at the ceiling with stars attached to it. Remembering the memory of how Dad helped me put it years ago

Then after a while, I heard a honk outside the house, I got up and peeked through the window.

To see a familiar red truck parked in our driveway, I grinned in excitement as I made my way downstairs

" Jacob! Billy! " I said

" Stella dear! It's good to see you here again with Bella " Billy Black, Dad's trusted friend says.

As I gave him a tight hug and pulled away, Bella walked out of the house and awkwardly gave them a smile

" hey," She greets. I can't help but not secretly roll my eyes at her awkwardness and watch as Jake makes his way to Bella

smiling as they interact with each other after a few years of not seeing each other

" Charlie here hasn't stopped talking since he told you're going here " Billy continues and nudges his arm toward Dad who rolls his eyes as Bella smiles at them.

" so, what do you think? " I watch as Jake makes his way to the red truck and smiles at Bella

" of what? " She asks

" your homecoming present they say, " I said and watched as her face acted and turned into surprise.

The two of them went inside the car as well tried it for the first time.

I turned to Billy and placed my hand on the handle, as we walked towards inside the house.

" what do you say about watching football and you old guys a drink? " I teasingly ask as Billy laughs loudly and looks up to me

"Hey! I'm not that old yet Stella. But you still think I'm more handsome than your dad, right? " he quietly asks, acting like dad doesn't hear him as I laughed

" Don't worry Billy, I'm trying my best to find Dad a lady of his own " I said causing him to laugh even more.

" ah, I don't think so. I even tried that once too! But your dad was the worst when it comes to dates " He continues and I can tell Dad's face was getting red by our conversation.

While Bella was with Jake, I spent my time with Dad and Billy in the living room
