Third pov:

A long chapter!

As the evening sun dipped low on the horizon, Adrian stepped out of the taxi and made his way inside. A warm smile greeted him from his abuela, Evelyn, but Adrian already asked her to keep his departure to Madrid a secret from Meera for now. He wanted to explain everything to her himself.

The urge to see Meera gnawed at Adrian like a persistent ache. A quick shower couldn't cool the fire in his veins. He glanced at his reflection in the mirror. Shaving? Later. Right now, every second wasted was a moment stolen from seeing her.

His phone buzzed on the counter, the notification sounded jarring in the quiet room. It was a message from Diego, a lifeline of information. "Heads up," the message read, "Meera out by the park near the lake, her friend sobredramático(over dramatic) Dahlia shouted at me" He threw on his favorite well-worn jeans and a familiar t-shirt, With a determined stride, he headed out the door.

Adrian pov:

Determination coursed through me like a shot of tequila as I bolted out of the house. I needed to see Meera, mi fresa, face-to-face. I had to explain everything and unravel the tangled mess that had kept me away for so long. Maybe, just maybe, if I laid it all bare, my past, my struggles, she'd understand.

The park came into view, a vibrant tapestry of green and laughter. But my eyes scanned past the swings and picnic blankets, searching for my fresa and I scanned the scene. There she was, by the lake, looking like a picture straight out of a romance novel. That blue sundress – damn, it hugged her curves like a second skin, flowing down to her knees like a royal blue waterfall. Her long black hair, cascaded down her back, catching the last rays of the setting sun.

But something was missing. The usual twinkle in her eyes, the spark that ignited every time she looked at me, was dimmed, Replaced by a dullness that tugged at my heart. Yeah, she was mad at me. Furious, even. But hey, that's my girl. Spicy and feisty, just the way I like her. but I wasn't backing down. Ready to face whatever she threw my way, even if it meant getting a royal scolding and a good scratch from that diablo(devil) cat of hers. Bring it on! She deserved the truth, and I was ready to spill it, consequences be damned. Because one thing was crystal clear – life without her flat disappointment.

I swaggered towards her, my heart a hummingbird trapped in my chest. "Meera!" I called out, my voice rough with a mix of nerves and anticipation.

Her head snapped up, those gorgeous brown eyes widening in a mix of amusement and something deeper, maybe worry? Before I could decipher it, she was sprinting towards me, a radiant smile breaking across her face. "Adrian!" she cried, her voice thick with emotion.

She throws herself into a hug, squeezing the air outta me, clinging to me like a lifeline. The air whooshed out of my lungs for a second, surprised by the force of her embrace. But I quickly recovered, my arms wrapping around her possessively, holding her close.

She clung to me, her body trembling, and a choked sob escaped her lips. My heart ached for her. I held her there, whispering apologies into her hair, vowing to explain everything.
