Before we dive into this chapter, I need to take a moment to share something that has truly shattered my heart. 💔 One of my all-time favorite boy band members, Liam Payne from One Direction, is no longer with us. As a massive 1D fan, this loss feels incredibly personal to me. 😔💔
Liam has always been so special to me. His voice, his charm, and the joy he brought to millions of fans like me will never be forgotten. 💖
It's incredibly painful to think that he's no longer with us, and seeing the grief of his family, friends, fellow band members, and fans makes it even harder. 😔 But I know his memory will live on in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to shine. 🌟
Rest in peace, Liam. 🕊️ We love you, and you'll forever be missed. 💔
Meera pov:
My vision blurred as tears streamed down my cheeks, and I sobbed uncontrollably. Just then, Amma rushed into my room, her expression shifting from concern to panic. "Meera ma, what's wrong?"
I choked on my words, my voice broken and trembling. "Ma, I'm n-not pregnant." The reality of what I thought was sinking in, and the tears kept flowing.
Amma quickly took the kit from my hand, and I was too lost in my despair to notice. Her eyes widened, and I could see her take a sharp breath. "It has two lines, da! You're pregnant!"
My heart stopped, and I looked at her, then back at the kit in disbelief. "B-but Amma, when I looked at it, it only showed one line!"
Amma approached me gently, "It said to wait for five minutes, da. Maybe you just saw it too soon." She chuckled softly, her own eyes glistening with tears of joy.
In that moment, it hit me—it was positive! I was going to be a mom, and Adrian was going to be a father! The weight of my earlier heartbreak began to lift, replaced by an overwhelming wave of joy and disbelief.
I let out a teary chuckle and pulled Amma into a tight hug, overwhelmed with joy. She wrapped her arms around me, patting my back and then gently cupping my face. "Our little girl is going to become a mom, ha?" she said, a proud smile lighting up her face. She pinched my cheeks playfully and wiped away my tears with the other hand.
"Look at you," she teased, "now itself your mood is all over the place! I don't know how my son-in-law is going to handle you!"
I couldn't help but laugh at her words. "Don't worry, Amma. My husband will take care of me like his eyes," I replied, a smile creeping across my face. After Amma took her phone to share the big news with everyone, I quickly stopped her, gently holding her hand. "Amma, let me tell Adrian first. We'll reveal it together after that, okay?" She gave me a knowing smile, patting my cheek softly.
"Of course, ma," she reassured, her eyes twinkling with joy.
With a plan forming in my head, I hurried to my room to get ready. Our favorite spot by the lake—it was perfect. The place where we first confessed our feelings, where we had our first date, our first kiss... And now, it was where I'd tell Adrian the biggest news of our lives.
I slipped into a soft yellow saree, the fabric flowing effortlessly around me. As I draped it, my hands instinctively moved to my stomach, caressing it gently. A smile spread across my lips, and my heart fluttered at the thought. Adrian has always wanted us to spend more time together, just the two of us, and this news... I know it will make him so happy.
I let my hair loose, allowing it to fall naturally around my shoulders, and carefully filled the parting in my hair with vermillion, a symbol of our love, as always. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. There was a glow about me today, and I knew it wasn't just the saree. I was carrying our baby—our future. My fingers grazed over the tiny bump that wasn't visible yet but somehow, I already felt it. It's a mother's instinct, I guess.
