How can something be older than time itself?
The beginning of the beginning, or a cycle coming to its end,
We could be like the Methuselah, a possibility so far that even time bends to it,
People live, grow and change, with or without you,
But I've stayed the same, the paralysis of time has gripped my velvet bones,
A shivering breath escapes my soul,
A new fear flows through me, of being stuck behind glass, watching their life unfold,
I bang my hands, my head, my heart but it won't break,
Its unyielding, a force stronger than the one between two neutrons,
I have no choice but to stand still,
I decay.
My body rots, I watch them smile,
I shift positions and find ashes wherever I move,
But there's a rainbow in the sky,
A possibility, even if as far as Methuselah, it exists,
16 billion light years or a heartbeat away,
I can see your breath on my glass, icy,
Our fingers could brush, if I let the glass slide,
Our breaths could mingle, I could taste you,
I still can, its as sweet as cherry wine,
Maybe I am the Methuselah, 16 billion light years away,
When you stretch your hands, can you grab me,
I say your name wrong, twice,
But you never forget me,
Because I'm embodied in every woman you love, every woman you hold,
You call my name everytime, but she answers,
We share a name, but shes your Sun,
Closer, closer, never the Methuselah,
Never 16 billion light years away,
You love her more.
