Chapter - 2 (The project)

ugh I don't even want to remember that moment....

"Every group will select their team leader" this sentence was the most horrific one, knowing that my group members weren't really great at this particular thing, i gave up on voting....yes i actually did.

"Should we vote Nicole?" Said a deep and soft voice

It was Yiran, who spoke for the first time ever in front of me.

"Huhh?!?? Bro what the-" no. I shouldn't say that- instead I said "Me? I think you all are going to regret that-"

"Wait- where is everyone? And why are you the only one sitting here?" I asked to Jiaxu who was the only one sitting there.

"Well I was packing to leave anyways" he said while standing up.

"Wait, why?" I asked with genuine curosity 

"You're selected as the final team leader though...so end of discussion" He smiled and waved as he was leaving the class

"Could I be any more unlucky"

- 05:00 p.m

I called everyone to discuss about the case as it was given in our class group chat.

"An unsolved case about a doctor with children's clinic...
nice" Said Jiaxu in a chill voice

"there's more" I said with an uninteresting voice

"all the childrens....WAIT WHAT-" He was shocked as if it wasn't his choice to join Law school

"yeah all the childrens went missing after going into that clinic" I couldn't just care less

"Are there any clues from investigations that was held in past?" Xiang mei asked while being actually curious.

"yeah...there are a lot of them.......firstly all the childrens who went missing were under 13 and most of them were girls, then the doctor is known to be pretty young...for like right now he must be 23 or 24 years old?" explained Yiran in a cold voice as usual

"HE'S SAME AS OUR AGE-" Jiaxu was too stunned

"well yeah and the last clue is that....he is near us" I said as there was a deep silence after that

"wait- what do you mean by near us???" Xiang mei and Jiaxu asked with genuine curiosity

"it means that he's specifically in our area" I said

suddenly a really uninteresting, chill and a teasy voice came...it was Pei shi

"damn guys you all are really working hard.."

"If you don't have to do anything Pei shi, Please leave right now" Xiang mei said in a deep and cold voice...it was very unlike her

"Well....I still need the credits alright? then I'll be going guys.... take care" these words were by Pei shi but that take care and that tone was actually telling something else..

"Gosh I just can't tolerate her" Xiang mei was feeling furious at that time so we decided to do our further discussion tomorrow morning

the next morning I was in the library seeing the past articles about our case with a cup of coffee in my hand, suddenly I looked around and saw Yiran intensely starring at me...I could do nothing but instead said "Are you looking at me because you are in love with me or you're just enjoying my beauty?" with a confident voice and then realising "darn it, I should remove these habits of replying instantly" with the most embarassed face ever

but... instead of getting disgusted he felt flustered..

"I wasn- I mean I wanted to talk about the case- but you- aish nevermind" He said in rush and got out of the library instantly.

I was confused and shocked after seeing Yiran's this side for the first time I felt "Lol he was cute-" and continued with my work

Yiran's pov:

"WHY DID I MADE THAT FACE"
"WHY DID I STUTTERED"
"WHY DID I FELT FLUSTERED AND RAN AWAY"

"AND MOST IMPORTANTLY....why was I staring at her?"

"Bro chill" said Kai, my roommate

I didn't do anything but just got out of my dorm and went towards the cafeteria and in middle of the way... I met Jiaxu....

"Why are you ignoring me?" said Jiaxu

"When did I ignore you?" I said with a cold voice

"Well you did...... b-r-o-t-h-e-r"

Jiaxu said in a sarcastic voice which was not funny but was seemingly evil.

but I didn't cared and started to walk towards the cafeteria but then suddenly my shoelace untied so I bent and sat there to tie them and said

"Stop calling me that...and if you don't have anything to do.... atleast work for our project.... Nicole is the only one working for that project" I said with a cold voice

"Why are you worrying for her?... it should be me though" Jiaxu said with a teasy voice

"Why should it be you?" I asked

"Isn't it simple? because I like her" He smiled while saying this.

"But with what intentions?" I asked and then Jiaxu's smile faded instantly.... and I started to walk without caring about anything....

"He knows....." said Jiaxu with a cold voice
