Author's Note: I made art for this chapter but it was flagged as "inappropriate" so I had to change the color palate to get it to upload (putting up 2 different pictures just in case). 😢 The original will be posted on my Tumblr

The giants had no need to announce their arrival, as the tremors from their footsteps were more than enough to alert all the humans in the area of their immense presence. The guards rushed out to stand on alert, even if they were helpless to retaliate if the giants chose to enact violence.

"His Majesty, King Charles of Minimaterra!" The human king emerged from his castle with the usual fanfare. The three giants bowed and stayed on their knees, as they had before. The king, passing over any further introductory formalities, indicated for his servants to bring out the tributes. Chester leaned forward hungrily and licked his lips again with eager anticipation, saliva raining down his chin as he watched the delectable living snacks parade out in front of him, ready to be tasted. They looked so appetizing to him; their colorful dresses reminded him of the foil on fancy chocolates, just begging to be unwrapped. The tiny people looked up at the gluttonous giant uneasily as he loomed high above their heads, roving over them with the bright green eyes of a beast.

Sir Maneater was stunned to see the same adorable little blonde lady he had nearly stepped on during his last trip to Minimaterra. A flood of mixed emotions surfaced inside him, and he struggled to suppress a blush from creeping over his cheeks. While his heart fluttered joyously to behold her, his stomach sank into his shoes as he realized the horrible fate that awaited her. Why was she here, of all people? At first, she was too distracted by Chester's frightful display of hunger to notice her beloved knight. When she spotted him, however, her whole face lit up with joy and her blue eyes shined like jewels. Martin's insides sank even further. Was she here because of him?

Tanya and Graham were still not accustomed to regular lighting, so the brightness of the sun stabbed into their eyeballs like blades as the guards marched them out with the rest of the group. They were only able to see when Chester's great shadow blocked out the light. Tanya let out a startled cry, and Graham sucked in a sharp breath, when the gargantuan tower moved, showing itself to be not a feature of the architecture, but rather alive and sentient.
