Sunday Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father, we give You thanks that, just as You awakened Your Son, Jesus, from His rest in the tomb, so You woke us this day. Be with the faithful around the world as we gather this morning in fellowship and worship. As we journey to Your house to partake of the gifts of Your Divine Service, center our hearts and minds on Your Holy Word. Grant us clarity to reflect and respond to Your message. Bless our pastors and all those who work in the ministry. Send Your Holy Spirit to guide us when we depart into the mission field so that we may be a testimony to the world of Your gracr, mercy, and love. Amen.

Sunday Evening
Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of Your Word, for through it, we know of the steadfast and perfect love You have for us. Thank You for giving us salvation and everlasting life through the body and blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we close our eyes this evening, grant us a restful night's sleep. Recharge our mind and soul in preparation for the work week. Remind us that, no matter what awaits us, You will be there to carry us through. Let Your Holy Spirit prepare us for the week ahead so we can be examples of Your grace and mercy to the world. Amen.

Monday Morning
Omniscient Lord, only You know what awaits us this week. Yet we know we can always lean on Your everlasting arms when the unexpected comes. Send Your Holy Spirit to guide us in all we do. Envelop us in a fortress of strength and love as we joyfully work in our daily voca-tions. Grant us patience with those we interact with today.
Give us the courage to live a life reflective of Your grace and mercy so we may faithfully witness to those who may not know of Your steadfast love. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Monday Evening
Gracious Lord, thank You for the talents and vocations You have given us. Lead us to use them to further Your kingdom and to be faithful witnesses to the Gospel for those in the world who do not know of Your infinite love. Forgive us for any offenses we have committed against You or our neighbor. Let Your grace and mercy be examples to us as we forgive those who have offended us. Recharge our bodies and souls for another day ready to glorify You in all we do. We pray in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Tuesday Morning
O most merciful Lord, every morning is a wonderful gift from You, the giver of all good things. You fill each new day with Your bountiful blessings. But I am often not thankful for all that You have provided for me. Forgive my ungrateful heart. Open my eyes to see not only Your blessings but also Your guidance and continued care and protection. Bless my work this day and help me to do all to the best of my ability. Direct my thoughts, words, and deeds so that all I do may be to the praise of Your name. In the precious name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Tuesday Evening
Holy Father, as the sun sets and I prepare for sleep, once again Your mercy and grace have carried me through another day. Forgive me where I have done wrong or harmed another through sinful actions or inaction. As You have forgiven me, give me the strength and love to forgive others who have sinned against me. I give You thanks for all that You have supplied me this day, even in ways I am unaware of. Bless my night with peaceful sleep that I may wake rested and ready to serve You and my neighbor tomorrow. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Wednesday Morning
O King of kings and Lord of lords, whose grace is sufficient for every day, I thank You for last night's sleep. I pray Your continued presence and leading as I seek to accomplish tasks this day. Thank You that You are in full control; accompany me this day wherever I go and in whatever I do. Make me quick to apologize when I wrong another; when others wrong me, remind me of how readily You for-give. Protect me from all threats of violence this day, and give me wisdom to face troubles that may come my way.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Wednesday Evening
Gracious God, another day is almost over. I thank You that You have carried me through all that happened this day.
Forgive me when I doubted Your protection and guidance.
Forgive me when I questioned Your wisdom. Forgive me for careless words spoken in anger or hate. Wash my sins away by the blood of Jesus. Restore to me the joy of Your promises of complete and full forgiveness and the hope of eternal life You gave me in Baptism. Grant me a quiet night and a recuperative sleep, that I may be rested and ready to love my neighbor and share the Gospel tomorrow whenever opportunities arise. For the sake of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Thursday Morning
Blessed Lord, as the sun rises, I am reminded of Your goodness that surrounds me and all creation. You continue to sustain the world with Your power, and You have prepared all events that may transpire this day for my good. Give me eyes of faith to see Your gentle hand and merciful ways, especially when trouble or trials come my way. Make my heart eager to forgive and defend my neighbor. Make my mouth slow to speak spite and spread gossip. May all I do this day be to Your glory and the good of all. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Thursday Evening
O Lord and Savior, once again Your grace was sufficient for this day and Your power was made perfect in my weak-ness. In my pride, I have sinned against You and others.
I have turned aside from Your gentle leading, and I have thought of my wisdom above Yours. Forgive me for my arrogance this day. Wash me clean in Your holy blood shed for me on the cross. I give You all my worries and cares now, for You care for me so much. Quiet my mind and still my heart, that my sleep may be beneficial. Grant me a blessed rest, that I may be ready to serve You again tomorrow. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Friday Morning
Eternal Father, protect our country from harm and danger. Guide those who lead our nation that their decisions may be wise and just, guided by Your Holy Word. I lift up to You in prayer the men and women who serve in our military today to safeguard the liberties we cherish. Watch over them. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Friday Evening
Merciful and gracious Lord, darkness and colder temperatures are daily increasing as the days grow shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. Tonight, let me not forget those who serve in our beloved church body: our president, our district president, and their staffs. Most especially, I pray for our pastors, teachers, and other professional church workers. How difficult their jobs are. How easily we fail to remember them in prayer. Give them perseverance, humil-ity, and initiative, especially when their labors may seem fruitless. The darkness of sin enshrouds our world, and Your Church is under attack. Keep Your workers steadfast in the true faith. Help them to know that they are loved and appreciated. I commend them each to Your care; through Christ, our Advent King. Amen.

Saturday Morning
The weekend is here, Father God. Thank You for seeing me through the work week, even as I attend to Saturday cleaning, chores, or rehearsals. Lord, stores and malls can be crowded during this time of year, even in our age of online consumerism. This day, help me remember shop-keepers, janitors, and security personnel in malls, stores, and parking lots. May we speak words of encouragement and gentle Gospel witness with an appropriate Christian seasonal greeting. Keep us all safe. Curb those who would seek to harm others. Later this day, grant us a good night of rest to find energy to worship You on the morrow. In the name of Your Son, our Redeemer. Amen.

Saturday Evening
O Lord of the Sabbath, grant that Your people populate their congregations tomorrow in vast numbers. May they find rest in the worship of You on the Christian Sabbath day. Feed them on the manna of Your Word. Cause them to eat and drink of Your true body and blood in the Holy Supper for the forgiveness of their sins and strengthening of their faith. Savior, bring us together in public worship in Your house of prayer. Fill Sunday Schools and Bible classes with minds and hearts eager to grow through Your Word.
Bless me and all Your children with calm and healthful sleep as we prepare for the Lord's Day. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer at Midday (Noon)
God of all grace and glory, the divinely inspired words of the apostle Paul come to mind: "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain" (1 Corinthians 15:58). Father, these are mighty words of inspiration and hope. So no matter what has transpired this morning, keep me strong in the one true faith, excelling in my vocation to glorify You and serve others. During the rest of this day, keep my heart and mind focused on You, comforted by the reality that what is done in the Savior's name does not lose its reward. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer at Midnight
Some people call midnight "the witching hour," almighty God. But that is not so for us who are citizens of Your kingdom through faith in Christ Jesus. We are not alone; we are comforted by Your presence and the prayers of believers around the globe. Grant that I may render You heartfelt adoration and praise, glory and thanksgiving.
May my words mimic Luther's Evening Prayer, asking for forgiveness for the sins and errors I committed and commending my body and soul and all things to Your care.
And then may I lift up others near and far in this world to Your mercy and care. "Preserve my life," O Lord, my God.
Amen (Psalm 86:2).
