PRESENT TIME.
Julian's POV
"Are you okay with Lando dating your sister?" Jayden asked, walking in my kitchen as if he belonged here.
"She's old enough to make her own decisions" I shrugged.
But I actually like Lando. He treats Nova like she deserves to be treated, as a princess.
Much better than how Jayden used to treat her.
"It's all fake right? She's just doing this for our plan?" He sat down on the kitchen counter.
"Your plan" I pointed out. "And it's obviously not fake"
Was he blind or something?
I grabbed a bottle of water and walked out of the kitchen, to my office.
"What do you mean?" Jayden jumped off the counter, following me. "We are still doing this, right?"
"Obviously not" I mumbled.
"Are you stupid? We waited years for this and she finally close to achieving our goal"
"It was never my goal, never my plan" I put my hands on my desk, looking straight at him. "She's out, has been out for years"
"She's no-"
"She fell in love with Lando, he fell in love with her. Leave them alone" I started raising my voice, which I didn't want because Piper was still asleep.
She didn't need to hear this.
"We don't need her thou-" he said but I cut him off again. "You leave Lando alone or I will personally finish what you tried to start years ago"
I pointed at my gun, which was laying on the desk. He threatened to shoot me years ago, over his stupid plan.
He wasn't gonna do that, I knew that. It would end his life as well.
"Hayes, are you becoming soft?" He chuckled. "You know it's dangerous to let people get too close to you"
He tapped my desk a few times, right next to my gun. "A girlfriend, a baby sister, and now you start to like her boyfriend? It's dangerous Hayes" he clicked his tongue.
"For them" he added.
"Is that a threat Jayden?" I titled my head.
"I wouldn't dare, don't wanna end up like your dad" he said with a smirk.
A fucking smirk.
I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden, Jayden was pressed against the wall, my arm on his neck.
"What are you gonna do Julian? Are you gonna kill me too?" He asked, but I could see the fear in his eyes.
"Tempting" I said as I pushed my arm deeper on his neck. "Don't ever think or talk about them again or I swear I won't hesitate to ki-"
Someone cleared his throat, interrupting me.
"Are the boys done playing?" Adam said as he leaned against the doorframe.
"Pack your things and join the boys in Paris" I told Jayden before backing away. He immediately grabbed his neck and started coughing.
He looked at me. "Sorry man, I didn't mea-"
"Just go" I interrupted him.
And finally, he did as he was told.
"Piper let me in" Adam said as he closed the door of my office behind him. "What was that?" He nodded his head.
"I don't trust him" I said, looking at a painting. "Are Lando and Nova okay?"
"Cute as ever" Adam chuckled. "I feel single when I look at them"
I chuckled, but I knew what he meant.
"Besides, what's in Paris?" He asked.
"Nothing" I turned around. "But if Jayden asks, then we want to rob the Louvre"
He nodded, he knew what I was trying to say.
Everyone thought Jayden was my right hand, but honestly he wasn't. He never was.
Adam was.
"You're going to Paris as well?" He asked. I shook my head in response. "Not yet, I have a dinner to attend first"
Jayden was right about one thing - I was becoming soft.
