Healing

The broken heart,
And the broken soul,
Finally started to heal.

Gave up many things,
Learnt things the hard way,
Shed a few tears,
Took some advice from her peers

From the gloomy alleys of pain,
To the bright alleys of joy,
There was no shortcut,
But a long and strenuous journey.

She was aware of her feelings,
She was finally healing.
Days were no longer filled with tears,
Her mind was ever so clear.

A few band-aids here,
A few casts there,
Some stiches here,
Some bandages there.
She treated the wounds she never knew she had.

Still she felt,
Anxious after every good news,
Worried after being treated well,
Thought why her eyes we're no longer swelled.

Accepting the changes,
Accepting the flaws,
Accepting the happiness,
Accepting the belongingness,
It wasn't painless,
It wasn't simple.

She felt extreme zeal,
In wanting to heal.
It was challenging,
It was rough,
No matter what,
She never gave up.
