(short announcement, this will be the last "my lover at war" because the germans [not what happened in actual history] will blockade moscow so letters do not get out)
My loveWe had a fun little treat at the aid station today, Anna, the organizer at the station, read a poem to us today. I heard it and thought of you, and your perseverance. I remember it went a little like this
Wait for me, and I'll come back,Dodging every fate!
"What a bit of luck!" they'll say,
Those that did not wait.
They will never understand
How amidst the strife,
By your waiting for me, dear,
You had saved my life.
It made me think about you and your bravery, how you'll manage to stay and make it back. I started reflecting on all the time we spent together. It made me miss you, made me worry about you, please make it back here soon.
Anyway, while working at the stalingrad plant, I actually managed to make you a gift, It's enclosed in this letter, I used some spare brass but i hope you like the heart! I also enclosed a few rubles, in case you need some. Please take care of yourself, I've heard the winter is going to get way colder.
Stay alive out there,
Marina
