Injury and Vivah

Everyone was worried sick about Urmila and Lakshman was sitting there only because Ram had ordered him to. "Vo nhi aayegi." Indrakamini said from the chair on which she was bound. "Kon nhi aa rha?" came a voice from the doorway.

Everyone turned around and saw a highly injured Urmila standing there but what surprised them most was she was dabbing casually at her forehead to stop the bleeding with the cotton odhni which was draped on her head in the morning. "Urmi, tu thik hai na?" Chhaya asked her. "Han han bass thodi si chot hi to hai." Urmila said smiling. Her smile still reaching her eyes assuring them to some extent.

Lakshman was sitting in shock at how gravely she was injured but still trying to stay strong in front of everyone to stop them from worrying. "Urmila chlo vaid ji ke pass." Ram said. "Bhaiya phle vivah sampann kr lete hain na nhi to mahurat nikal jayega." She said looking at Lakshman who still sat there shocked.

"Mila." He said standing up and running towards her and engulfed her in hug not caring about the surroundings. She flinched a bit but returned the hug resting her head on his chest and listened to the rapid beating of his rest. "Meri jaan nikal gyi thi tumhari chinta mein." He whispered. "Jis hisaab se dhadkan chl rhi hai lag hi rha hai." She whispered back. "Tum jyada nhi bolti ho?" He asked. "Maine to kyada bola bhi nhi hai. Vaise ab chinta mat kro maina gyi hu na, khi nhi jaungi." She whispered making him smile and nod.

Everyone was standing awkwardly during this whole ordeal. "Ahem." Ram fake coughed. They didn't break apart. "Ahem ahem." This time it was Bharat and soon the whole hall started fake coughing causing them to break apart. "Itni khasi aa rhi hai to pani pilo." Urmila said as Lakshman turned slightly red.

She looked at her right arm which had scratches and was bleeding from a cut and frowned. She had not noticed this before. "Ye kahan se lgi?" She mumbled to herself checking the wound but shrugged knowing that majority of the time she didn't know when and from where she got hurt and today was one of the days.

They sat in the mandap and Urmila had a dupatta wrapped around her forehead tightly to stop bleeding. She was in immense pain but kept strong as she knew that this was a very important day not just for her but also to all her family members. She did all the rituals gritting her teeth with a smile plastered on her face.

"Aap dono ab saptapadi ke liye khade ho jaye." Pandit ji said and Lakshman stood up and Urmila shot out her hand at him signalling him to hold her hand and help her in standing. He did and they did the saptapadi happily, a bit painfully from Urmila's end but that was okay to her.

(A/n: Bhai dekho ye maine kahin aur se copy kiye. To mujhe koi andaza nhi hai ki ye shi hai ya glt haina kuki na to maine kisi ki shadi phero tak attend ki na meri shadi hui. So if any of the vachan is wrong please just cope up with it.)

1st vachan:

Laksh: Om esha ekapadi bhava iti prathaman. (You will offer me food nd be helpful in every way. I will cherish you and provide welfare and happiness for you and our children).

Urmi: Dhanam dhanyam pade vadet. (I am responsible for the home and all household, food and finance responsibilities.)

2nd vachan:

Laksh: Om oorje jara dastayaha. (Together we will protect our household and children).

Urmi: Kutumbum rakshayishyammi sa aravindharam. (I will be by your side as your courage and strength. I will rejoice in your happiness. In return, you will love me solely).

3rd Vachan:

Laksh: Om rayas santu joradastayaha. (May we grow wealthy and prosperous and strive for education of our children and may our children live long).

Urmi: Rava bhakti as vededvachacha. (I will love you solely for the rest of my life as you are my husband. Every other man in my life will be secondary. I vow to remain chaste).

4th Vachan:

Laksh: Om mayo bhavyas jaradastaya ha. (You have brought sacredness into my life, and have completed me. May we be blessed with noble and obedient children).

Urmi: Lalayami cha pade vadet. (I will shower you with joy from head to toe. I will strive to please you in every way I can).

5th Vachan:

Laksh: Om prajabhyaha santu jaradastaya. (You are my best friend and staunchest well-wisher. You have come into my life, enriching it. God bless you).

Urmi: Arte arba sapade vadet. (I promise to loge and cherish you as long as I live. Your happiness is my happiness, your sorrow is my sorrow. I will trust and honour you, and will strive to fulfill all your wishes).

6th Vachan:

Laksh: Rutubbyah shat padi bhava. (Now that you have taken 6 steps with me, you hace filled my heart with immense happiness. Will you do the kindness of filling my heart with happiness like this for all times?)

Urmi: Yajna hom shashthe vacho vadet. (I will always be by your side).

7th Vachan:

Laksh: Om sakhi jaradastayahga. (We are now husband and wife and are one. You are mine and I am yours for eternity!)

Urmi: Attramshe sakshino vadet pade. (As God is witness, I am your wife. We will love, honour and cherish each other forever).

They sat down again after the saptapadi for kanyadaan. Everyone had tears during it. Yeah Lakshman also. After Kanyadaan, Lakshman filled sindoor in her hairline and put the mangalsutra around her neck. Finally they were married.

Lakshman looked at Indrakamini and smirked. They took the blessings from the elders and then it was the time of bidai. Then it all crashed to Urmila and she broke down. "Urmi kya hua?" Chhaya asked all the siblings beside her.

"Yaar aaj merpe attack hua. Merko itni gandi tarah se chot lag gyi." She said still crying and Chhaya sighed in exasperation. "Urmi vo 3 gnte phle ki baat hai." Ram said. "Haan bhaiya 3 gnte aapke liye mujhpe to hamla subah subah hua tha." She said sulking and wiping her tears, till then vaidya had come and she was treated.

"Isko har baat itni baad mein ku realise hiti hai?" She asked herself. "Matlab?" Shatrughan asked. "Abhi dekhna isko kal ya prso realise hoga ki iski shadi ho gyi hai." She said and all of them were shocked.

"Haan arey iske saath aesa hi hota hai. Iska reaction time na thoda slow hai. Isko kal ki baat aaj realise hoti hai." Chhaya explained and all the others looked at Urmila who was now being treated by the vaidya.
