The city continued to burn, the Cybers continued to multiply, and I continued on my solo mission of destroying them until the day I died. I kept asking myself what if Mina was lying? What if she didn't know how to actually destroy the machine? What if all the hopes that I built on her certainty were a mirage? But no. I refused to believe this.
