[Cody's POV]

The errand adjourned rather quickly, It was just the two of us delivering flowers from Katie to DJ for his momma's birthday tomorrow!

I had been uncharacteristically quiet. It was a little eerie for the two of us.

"Soo, where to now?" Noah muttered as he sat in the passenger seat of my car, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of exhaustion and nervousness. I fidgeted with my hands, trying to come up with something to say to break the silence.

"Yeah, me and the drama brothers have a small gig today, Nothing much it's just that I'll cover a few songs for 2 or so hours at Nulltown's bar." I answered Noah's question.

"Hm," He hummed for a moment as I started up the car "you never told me you took gigs on weekends."

"well, Me and the Drama bros do" I chided as the car started to roll along the highway "The bar isn't that far from here"

As we drove towards the bar where my band was playing this weekend, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building up inside me. The prospect of spending the evening singing and possibly playing an instrument with Trent and Harold always put me in a good mood. Noah, who was sitting in the passenger's seat, fidgeted his fingers along to the rhythm of the song playing on the radio.

I looked out of the window, watching the passing scenery fly by. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over everything it touched. The familiar sights of our town rushed past us, the buildings becoming a blur as we picked up speed.

I turned my attention back to Noah, who was focused on the road ahead. I couldn't help but notice the way his hazel eyes lit up whenever he talked about music. I mean, he appreciated the form of art himself but I honestly had no idea why he seemed so interested in the topic.

I hummed quietly, a tune playing in my head that I was gonna sing tonight. It was a soft melody, almost haunting in its simplicity. Noah glanced at me, a small smile playing on his lips.

"What's that you're humming? It sounds nice" he said, turning the volume down on the radio.

"you'll find out soon enough, Noes"

"Stop calling me that,"  He pleaded "The last time you called me that, a reader said they read it as 'Toes'"

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

I chuckled before I turned my vision back to the windshield, knowing full well if I didn't focus, we'd never make it to the bar now.

[Noah's POV]

I sat in the passenger seat of Cody's car, feeling the rumble of the engine beneath me as we made our way to the bar where Cody's bandmates (and the past Total drama contestants), Trent and Harold and himself, would be performing for the weekend gig. Cody was humming softly to himself, a tune that was unfamiliar to me. I glanced over at him, taking in the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, the way his fingers tapped along to the beat of the song playing on the radio.

I fidgeted in my seat, before tuning down the radio "What's that you're humming? It sounds nice" I muttered

"you'll find out soon enough, Noes" He responded with a chuckle and a smile

"Stop calling me that," I pleaded "The last time you called me that, a reader said they read it as 'Toes'"

"What was that?"

"Nothing." I blurted out

What the hell? was that a callback to a last chapter-
