As an Avgin from Sigonia, you were not meant to survive. Yet, you had, and you had somehow managed to make your way to Penacony, and even received the patronage of the Oak family, through your friend Sunday. In a weird twist of fate, you had eerily good control over memoria and were able to manipulate the dreamscape with ease. Nothing to rival a memokeeper, but still commendable enough.

Here's how it happened. You were a part of the forty Avgins the IPC bought, along with your best friend Kakavasha, who disappeared a few days into your imprisonment. You were traded off a few times, but eventually ended up with someone named Jivo, who would travel to Penacony only weeks after they got you. In Penacony, you would discover your powers and escape Jivo, only to be found by Sunday, who took you in. But the slave's branding on your neck still hurt.

Until today, you had believed you were the last of your species.

Then Aventurine happened.

Aventurine was suffering. First, Sunday had laid some sort of curse on him, and made him incapable of lying, which only took about 90% of his chips away.

"Are you the last remaining Avgin from Sigonia?"

"Yes." Aventurine wants to say, "Perhaps." But he can't. Instead what comes out of his mouth is, "No."

It is then that you walk out of the bookshelf. You haven't really paid attention to the conversation, and simply know that there's an IPC executive named Adventure or something coming who Sunday wants to get rid of, and humiliate. You're not sure how you can help with that , but he's told you to show up. So you do.

Aventurine does not react. Rather, it is you that nearly falls put of their skin. Its Kakavasha, you're sure. How he's alive and why he's working for the IPC, you haven't a clue. But he's here, in the fucking flesh. You and Kakavasha was something that happened years ago. Besides, the gambler had never loved you. He couldn't even recognize you now, even though you've changed considerable lass than he. He looks a rich douche, barring the eyes. And you, pretty much still look like an Avgin. Plain clothes, richer colors, but plain nonetheless. The necklace from his parents that Kakavasha entrusted you with is still around your neck. Its hidden under your clothes, so he can't see it, probably a good thing. But even still, he should've been able to recognize you by face. Is that how little you meant to him? Or is it just what the IPC does to a good person?

Instead, Kaka- no, Aventurine, sneers, "Did the head of the Oak Family get a little slave? How cute."

You could make him fall through the floor right there, and this would all be over. Your sword threatens to form in your hand, a weapon of pure memoria, like a memory bubble, but sharp. One cut could destroy someone's brain forever.

Sunday, for all his demerits, is a lover. He rushes to your defence, "You will not speak that way about a member of the family in Dewlight Pavilion. I cannot prepone your oncoming misfortune, but I can make it more painful." Every word is laced with venom and conviction. Despite being morally gray in his character, Sunday truly cares for you.

Aventurine chuckles, "Well, since this is an outright execution, spare me something. Who is this then?"

Sunday looks to you for permission. You're not ready, but you don't think you'll ever be. You nod.

Sunday walks over and gently puts an arm around you.

"This is Y/N. My closest advisor and one of Penacony's most esteemed dreamweavers. They are here to show you your place, Stoneheart."

Aventurine's blood runs cold. The first thing he did when he obtained a position in the IPC was look for where you went. He'd seen your trade logs. But the person who bought you was found dead years ago on a private planet multiple lightyears away from Penacony. All their slaves have dispersed among the cosmos. When he asked one of them, they said you'd died years ago when your former owner had been on vacation. He gave up after that. Now what. He wasn't even able to recognize you. How might that have felt? What is his next move? This was like rolling two thousand faced die and getting a total of million. Outside the realm of possibility.
