"It was just another of your tricks, right?"

"No, Y/N, I- It really wasn't. I mean-"

"What was it then? Because this-" You frantically wave your hands between you and her, "-isn't called a relationship. Fuck, it isn't even a friendship anymore."

"Y/N, I didn't mean for it to happen like this!"

"Really?" Your voice is coming out so bitter now, "You didn't mean to toy with my emotions and date me for a fucking YouTube video? But you just did it anyway?"

"I- I'll take it down, okay? Please, Y/N, I can't lose you!"

You take a step closer to her, and whisper, "Too late." You turn away, heart racing. Guinaifen makes a feeble grab at your arm, but you snatch it out.

It's really taking all you have to not burst into tears right now. You had been best friends with Guinaifen for years now, and you were fine keeping it that way. Sure, maybe you did like her as more. But if she didn't like you back, you were fine with that. It was better than this. If this was how it turned out, you'd much rather return to what you had before.

It was really hard to believe anything you had ever had was ever real now. Even your friendship. Especially your friendship. Cause the time you dated her definitely wasn't.

Guinaifen's a content creator/vlogger/streamer, and you're a digital and traditional artist working on commissions. You first moved in with Guinaifen as roommates eight years ago. you became friends. Gradually, you started appearing her content. You weren't sure when, but at some point, her followers started shipping you together. Maybe that's what caused this thing.

You move out the following day. You'd been saving up along with Guinaifen to move out of your rented place and get an apartment of your own someday. You can get a new place yourself with it, it'll just have to be a little smaller. Your uncle lives in the city where you and Guinaifen are, Loufu. So you move in him for a few days while looking for a new home.

You're sitting on the couch. You accidentally click YouTube trying to open another app, and the first thing you see is Guinaifen's video, of course. She's the only person you follow and the only videos you watch are hers.

You decide to distract yourself by getting some work done. You head into the room Jing Yuan lent you and start scribbling away on your device. This is when your little cousin Yanqing decides to bother you.

"Hey, dude, I'm a little busy, can you go to your dad right now?"

"No." Yanqing responds simply.

You swivel your chair to face him.

"What do you want?"

"Teach me how to draw!" He holds up a box of crayons, so innocently.

You smile softly. Drawing with Yanqing is more relaxing than expected, and it feels fun to just sit down on the floor, and do meaningless things again. It reminds you of that time you and Guinaifen stayed up all night playing UNO, or when you tried to bake cookies. Was any of that even real? You wanna believe it was, because it happened before the video. But you don't know.
