Chapter 4

Avneet's POV
I go in aash's room at around 2 in the night, i knock on her door but no one responds so i go in.
She wasnt in her room so i checked the washroom she wasnt there either. But i found a note on her bed which wrote

𝘔𝘰𝘮, 𝘥𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘷𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘵. 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩, 𝘪 𝘢𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦, 𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥. 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘥𝘰. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺, 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘶𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺.

I froze for a Moment processing what i just read but then i screamed, mom and dad rushed in aash's room

"What happened?!" Asks dad worried

I show them the letter.

"Hai bhagwan (oh god)" mom held her head and started crying

I was calling aash's phone continuously but her phone was switched off.

"We should call the police" mom said panicking

"There is no point, she has left on her own, police won't do anything" says dad

I was furious on aash, i thought we were getting close but no, she betrayed me.

"Why did she do it?, did you force her to get married?!" I ask mom and dad

"No never." Said mom.

"But you wouldn't have allowed for love marriage?" I ask as anger was building up

"Its...not like...that.." says mom hesitating

"WHATS WRONG WITH YOU BOTH? you preferred that your daughter gets married to someone she barely knows rather than meeting the person she likes or maybe loves?" I shouted at them

"But she agreed" said both of them

"THATS BECAUSE WE ARE SCARED TO FUCKING DISAPPOINT YOU GUYS" i screamed

"Avneet..." says dad

"Forget it, what are we gonna tell sid now?!" I ask

"I wish we knew..." said dad looking ashamed of himself

We fought, thought, panicked, and tried to gather courage to tell this to sid.
I checked the time and it was already 6:00 am, it had been 4 hours.

"Our brains are not working anymore, go and get some sleep or else you will feel sick" i said to my parents

"But how are we supposed to sleep" said mom still sobbing

"Please just get some rest" i said looking at dad and he nodded

I had called aash more than 50 times and still her phone was switched off.
I didn't sleep even for a single second, around 9 mom and dad came in my room and i was just zoned out.

"Avni (her other nickname)" said mom

I just looked at her

"We are going to sid's place, he deserves to know this, do you want to come?" She asks

I just nod and go along with them, the car ride was silent and filled with awkwardness.
We reached there place and knocked on the door.
Sid's mom opened the door

"You all here? So early in the morning? Is everything okay?" She asks with concern in her voice

"No...can we come in?" Asks mom

She takes us in and called sid and abhi

"What mom?" Said sid in a sleepy voice but as soon as he saw us he rubbed his eyes and came back to reality

"What happened? Is aash okay?" He asks.

"Uhmm...the thing..is.." dad was hesitant

"Uhm.." mom was also not able to say anything

"What happened?? You all are worrying us now" said abhi in concern

"I don't know how to say this" dad said looking embarrassed

"Say what??" Asked sid getting annoyed

I was losing patience and so was sid and i knew mom and dad wont be able to say it

"Aash ran away, she she called off the wedding" i spat it out

The room went silent as someone had died, sid had no expressions.

"She did WHAT?" shouted sid's mom

Mom and dad looked down in embarrassment.
I showed them the letter and then they read it.

"Why? If she had someone already then why this arrange marriage drama huh?" Asked sids mom furiously

"Mom calm down" said sid

"You want me to calm down?! Our reputation is on the line. Cards have been distributed, alot of influential people have been invited, everything is done!" Said aunty

"We didn't know she would do something like this, really. She agreed to get married herself and never even told us about her boyfriend." Said dad

"NOW WHAT?" shouted aunty

"Mom stay calm please, you will get sick. There is no point in wasting your energy of such people" said sid giving us a side eye

"What do you mean 'such people" i go near to him and ask

"People who clearly have no feelings for others amd are bloody selfish liars" he said also coming close

"We are sorry she did that but we had no idea but that dosent give you the right to call my family names" i said looking straight in the eye

"After what your sister did, i think i have the rights" he also said not looking away

We just stared at each other for a few seconds before abhi broke us up.

"Stop this nonsense both of you and start thinking what to do now?" He said trying to calm everyone down

"We cant cancel the marriage, it is in 9 days and people are gonna start coming in 4-5 days" says sid's mom

"But what other option do we have?" Asks abhi

Sids mom think for a minute and then looks at me......
