Nora knew she wasn't supposed to speak, but she could tell something was wrong with Leviathan.
She had previously noticed his many scars across his tail and torso and the way he acts around Mara...
"Hey, Leviathan..."
"You're supposed to be quiet."
He kept his head down.
"Where did you get those scars from?" She spoke without thinking.
Leviathan flinched at the comment and turned away.
"I'm sorry..."
"Shut up already!"
Nora backed away and rested her head on the bars of her circular cage.
She so desperately wanted to go back home and see Kaitlyn again. The guilt of running away was slowly eating her up. But she also wanted to stay and help Leviathan...
"Have you got a uh...family waiting for you at home?"
Nora found the comment strange but was glad Leviathan was talking.
"My dad and my sister..."
"Do you have a mom?"
"Went to war,"
"Oh..."
Nora decided it was her turn to ask the questions.
"What about you?"
"I guess Mara's sorta become family..."
"What's she like?"
"Harsh," he chuckled.
Mara burst through the door. Nora guessed she heard him laughing.
"Leviathan!"
"M-Mara! I didn't - I"
Without a second thought, Mara took out a sword and slashed his shoulder.
"Count yourself lucky you're not dead..."
Mara turned away and left.
Nora immediately scurried over to try and reach Leviathan.
"Oh my gods... What was that?"
"Harsh," he winced.
