I wanted a genuine act of love from you
To only treat me with care and respect
You were not the same as you were when we first met
Somehow life changed us
And I didn't know I wasn't ready to face the adversities it created for us.Yet here we are standing, distant from each other
Our hearts speak different languages, and it's clear we've changed
I yearned for your warmth in a world who's always cold
But instead I found myself within a story of love that only with time kept rusting.Perhaps in another life, in another world
We'd lay next to each other, rekindle the spark that once was diminished
Love me, embrace me
But for now, all we can do is contemplate,
A love that would change our course, and solely make us grow.
