Jinx's POV:
It's about...4 am? give or take. and, like usual, I'm tinkering on pow-pow while humming my favorite song. (Get Jinxed, duh)
although, my peace is soon disturbed when someone kicks down my damned door. I spin around in my chair to yell at whoever came into my room, but when I see Maxy- I pause.
"Jinx! I knew it. Why're you up so late again?" Max says, quickly walking up to me and cradling my face in her hands. I chuckle softly, reaching up to hold Max's hands. "just couldn't sleep again. the voices...y'know?"
Max's expression softens when I finish my sentence, and she sighs. "yeah...but this is the fifth night in a row you haven't slept. the voices will only get worse..." Max says, pulling me out of my seat - to which I stumble for a moment, before Max steadies me by wrapping an arm around my waist.
"I know, I know..." I mumble, letting myself lean against Max as they lead me to my bed. Once there, I practically collapsed against the bed. "mn.." I hum, burying my face in my pillow.
I hear Max chuckle at me, before climbing into bed beside me and wrapping an arm around me. I smile slightly, rolling onto my side to face Max. "..g'night." I whisper, finally hearing the voices quiet down as I slowly drift off to sleep.
"night love." I hear Max whisper in response, and then I feel a gentle kiss on my head. the next thing I know, I'm fast asleep.
~timeskip to later, say about 7 am~

Max's POV:
I hear shuffling in the bed, and I eventually wake up with a small groan, rolling onto my side and glancing over at Jinx - who seems to be crying on the edge of the bed.
"..J..inx..?" I mumble groggily, pushing myself up into a sitting position and crawling over behind Jinx. I soon hug her from behind, placing my chin on her head. "what's wrong..?"
I feel Jinx freeze momentarily, seemingly startled by my sudden presence - before eventually letting herself relax, a small sob escaping her. "I..I-I had a nightmare again..."
a worried expression quickly overtakes my face when I hear Jinx's words, and I hold her tightly against my body. Jinx often has these nightmares about 'The Incident', much like I do at times. but hers are always much worse.
"it's alright darling...it was just a nightmare...that's all in the past." I say gently, rubbing small circles on Jinx's arm as I gently kiss her shoulder. Jinx's sobs eventually die down, and she twists around to face me, wrapping her legs around my waist. I smile slightly, seeing Jinx bury her face in my chest.
I stay silent, but I do hum Jinx's favorite song, hoping that would calm her more, whilst rubbing her back. I feel Jinx's entire body begin to relax soon after, her grip on my body no longer extremely tight. "...thank you.."
I hear her mumble, and I chuckle, placing a kiss on her temple. "no worries amor." I whisper, leaning backwards to lay back down, keeping Jinx against my body. I hear Jinx's breathing slowly even out, and I smile.
next thing I know, Silco is yelling at us to get up-
