The morning sun filtered through the small window of the fortress chamber, casting a warm glow upon Kotaru and Matsude as they stirred from their slumber. Stretching their limbs, they rose from their makeshift beds, the events of the previous night still fresh in their minds.

Matsude glanced around the chamber, his eyes lingering on the unconscious form of Kaito bound in ropes. "We'll have to move quickly. The longer we stay here, the greater the risk of being discovered."

Kotaru finished his breakfast, a determined glint in his eye. "Agreed. Let's finish this, Matsude. Once we've taken care of Kaito, we'll make our escape and disappear into the shadows."

Matsude grinned, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "And then what? What do you plan to do once this is all over, Kotaru?"

Kotaru shrugged, a playful smirk on his lips. "Oh, you know me, Matsude. Probably head back home, celebrate with Father and the villagers. Maybe spend some time in Shizume, visit Ayame."

Matsude raised an eyebrow, a teasing tone in his voice. "Ah, the lovely Ayame. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to see you, Kotaru. Just don't forget about your duties as a ninja."

Kotaru chuckled. "Of course not, Matsude. Duty always comes first. But a little celebration never hurt anyone, right?"
