The idea of the story is actually from almost 3-4 years ago. I wrote 2 chapters at first, but then put it aside for quite a while, due to my exams and school. After reading the written parts and the summary again, I found it worth writing, so I decided to finish it.
Since the stories are usually for myself, there was no intention of posting them on wattpad, but I liked to know how good or bad others would think they are and to maybe improve by their help... So I decided to post this one, halfway through the process.

"Spread your wings" is actually my fourth story. I started writing sometime, back in the 7th grade and might also consider posting one of the old stories, after rewriting it. Compared to this one, the other three stories are like detailed summaries, with a bunch of dialogues in between. They were mostly about telling and rarely contained showing... though, I'm still trying to improve. 😅

✏️ So at first, Ruko wasn't supposed to be Marika's big brother or the King's son, but as the story proceeded, it turned out to be this way. He was also more serious and maybe harsh, but I'm fine with how his final characteristics came out. The time I also came up with his name, I thought it's weird or rare since I'd never heard of it before, but in case you were curious about the meaning it's: precious stone or gemstone (if we stick to its Japanese origin).
