*Third POV*

Amaris smiled as she carried the flower pot out of the classroom, "What's that?" a masculine voice asked causing Amaris to flinch and turn to see Xavier leaning against the wall beside the classroom. Xavier smirked seeing her flinch before walking closer to her and gently touching the leaves of her plant.

Amaris breathed a sigh of relief before remembering hid question, "It's a Kadupal Flower," she stated and lifted it slightly as the pot was starting to get heavy, "In Sri Lankan culture, it's often associated with spirituality and purity and it nicknamed the Queen of the Night," she recited.

Seeing her struggle, Xavier gently took the flower from her arms, "I'll help you carry this to your room," he said, it was more of a statement rather than an option, "What do you have after this class?" he asked and started walking.

Amaris was quick to follow him, "I have a Study Howl," she stated before trying to take her plant back, "I can take it myself," she stated but Xavier only moved it out of her reach.

"Nope," Xavier smirked, "I saw how you were struggling back there."

Amaris sighed as she glanced nervously up at Xavier as she led Xavier down the hallway towards Ophelia Hall. The rules Miss Thornhill gave her rang through her head, her heart raced with anticipation, her mind buzzing with a mix of excitement and uncertainty, "Um, my room is just up here," she said, her voice slightly shaky as she gestured towards the staircase in the centre of the foyer.

Xavier smiled warmly at her, his eyes sparkling with curiosity, "Lead the way, Amaris," he said, his voice low and teasing.

Amaris felt her cheeks flush at the teasing tone, her stomach flipping with a flurry of butterflies. She quickened her pace, eager to escape the awkwardness of the hallway and retreat into the safety of her room. As they reached her door, Amaris fumbled with her key, her hands trembling slightly with nerves. She glanced up at Xavier, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

"Sorry," she apologised quietly, her voice barely above a whisper. She's never had a boy in her room.

Xavier reached out and gently took her hand in his, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her veins, "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to be nervous around me," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth and understanding.

Amaris felt her heart swell with gratitude at his reassuring words, her nerves gradually beginning to fade away. With a shy smile, she unlocked the door and stepped inside, gesturing for Xavier to follow her. "Come on in," she said, her voice tinged with excitement. As Xavier stepped into her dorm room, Amaris couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness wash over her. This was the beginning of something new, something exciting, and she couldn't wait to see where it would lead.

Xavier gazed around at her decorated bedroom, "It's very you," he smirked and placed her plant onto her desk. He shoved his hand into the pockets of his hoodie and walked around, Amaris nervously watched him wander around her room, "It's cute," Xavier smirked.

Amaris flushed at the comment, she quickly walked towards him and grabbed his arm, "We should get to the library for Study Howl," She stated and dragged Xavier out of her room, locking the door behind her.

Xavier and Amaris walked in silence, the silence wasn't awkward though. It was comfortable, Xavier glanced sideways at Amaris, a soft smile playing on his lips. After a moment of contemplation, he broke the silence, "You're very quiet, Amaris," he stated and glanced down at her, "Everything good in your pretty little head?"

Amaris smiled back, a warmth spreading through her chest at his words. "Sorry," Amaris said as her smile softened, "I prefer silence to loud noises, my twin sister is the same, sometimes, silence speaks louder than words," she replied, her voice soft and earnest.
