Once again, continuation of last two chapters down below.

Sophie was exhausted.

After spending hours on hair and makeup and another hour after that trying to wriggle into her dress, she would have liked nothing better than to sit in a corner of the hall with Keefe and make bets about who would fall first? (in love or on their butts no one knows)

Weariness leaked through her body as she continued to dance with her friends completely out of sync. It was abundantly clear that none of them were particularly skilled on the dance floor.

Biana and Dex were attempting to dance together, but their movements were clumsy and messed up, causing them to laugh as they nearly collided with each other.

Marella and Jensi were no better, their attempts at a coordinated dance turning into a series of missteps and awkward twirls that had them both laughing and stumbling.

Despite the laughter and the group's attempts to enjoy themselves, the dance floor had turned into a chaotic scene of hilariously bad dancing. Sophie tried to join in the laughter and fun, but her thoughts kept drifting back to her warm bed and comfy hoodies.

Sophie glanced around the room, wondering where Keefe was hiding.

It had been awesome for him to invite her instead of someone he really wanted and there she was, wondering how much longer she would have to stay. Sophie plastered a large smile on her face, hoping Keefe would see it as a sign she was enjoying herself, if he was even watching.

Not like he actually would be. Knowing Keefe, he was rigging up enough traps to send all the teachers packing the following school day.

With Keefe still missing and the dance turning into a comical display of awkwardness, Sophie couldn't help but feel disappointed.

Sophie found herself needing a momentary escape from the dance floor's chaos. She made her way out to the tranquil garden area, settling on a secluded bench to collect her thoughts.

The moonlight bathed the garden in a soft glow, creating a peaceful atmosphere that offered a stark contrast to the bustling dance inside.

Lost in her thoughts about Keefe and the evening's unexpected turn of events, Sophie was startled when she heard footsteps approaching.

Turning around, she was surprised to find Fitz standing there, a smile on his face.

He looked incredibly handsome in his tailored tuxedo, the crisp lines and perfect fit accentuating his tall frame and classic features. His hair was neatly styled, and he wore a confident smile that added to his overall charm.

"Mind if I join you?" Fitz asked, his voice gentle and understanding.

Sophie hesitated for a moment, torn between wanting to be alone with her thoughts and appreciating his effort to comfort her.

"Sure, Fitz," Sophie replied, managing a small smile as he took a seat beside her on the bench.

They sat together for a while, staring at the shining stars in silence until Sophie abruptly interrupting the serenity of the place.

"Would you like to dance," Sophie asked shyly, tucking a lock of blonde hair behind her ear. She closed her eyes,, bracing for the downpour of embarrassment sure to come in a few moments.

It didn't.

She slowly opened her eyes to see a grinning Fitz standing in front of her, holding out a hand in response to her question.

"Why I would love to," he responded, pulling Sophie up from the bench.

Feeling a renewed sense of hope, Sophie and Fitz decided to head back to the gym, hoping that a slow song would start soon.

They made their way through the garden, their steps quickening with excitement. As they reached the entrance to the gym, Sophie's heart raced with anticipation.

To their delight, as they stepped inside, the upbeat tempo of the previous song faded, and the soft, melodic strains of a slow song began to play.

Sophie's face lit up with a smile as she looked at Fitz, realizing that their timing had been perfect.

They moved towards the centre of the dance floor, where Sophie's friends were dancing together.

Biana and Tam gently swayed to the music, her head in the crook of his neck.

Marella and Dex had started kissing. Dex had to crouch down to reach her full lips.

Sophie wrapped her arms around Fitz's neck as they began to dance to the music. Sophie felt a sense of calm wash over her as the worries and disappointments of the evening faded away.

She focused on the moment, dancing with Fitz under the soft glow of the gym's lights. While it wasn't the evening she had imagined with Keefe, Sophie couldn't help but feel grateful for this unexpected moment with Fitz.

As the song came to an end, Sophie and Fitz found themselves standing close, lost in the moment.

Fitz looked into Sophie's eyes, a gentle smile on his face. Before Sophie could fully comprehend what was happening, Fitz leaned in and gently kissed her.

The world seemed to fade away as they shared a brief but meaningful kiss until Sophie saw a figure out of the corner of her eye.

Her heart dropped into her stomach as she turned around to see a handsome boy with blonde tousled hair, his eyes glinting bloody murder.

Keefe.

And in that moment Sophie realised she had made a decision. A decision that would surely ruin their friendship.

And as she watched a tear silently drip down the boy's face she remembered Biana's words from a few days before.

"He's gonna love it"

As her own tears began to roll down Sophie's face, she wondered who Biana meant.

Fitz or Keefe.
