Nadia feels herself ushered out of the dining hall and into a marbled hallway with blue carpeting running across the floor. There is a double door at the end of the hallway to her left, and three single doors in front of her. Once everyone is in the hallway, Baxley walks to the front of everyone and clears his throat to get their attention.
"Here we are now. The guest rooms have been prepared. All three rooms, including Millia's, feature three beds. Only in Millia's room does each bed have varying levels of firmness. Shall I move any of the beds for better accommodations?" He asks at the end of his explanation. Millia shakes her head.
"Nope, that won't be necessary! Thank you, Baxley!" She says. Baxley nods in understanding.
"Who should stay with Nadia, though?" Jake asks. "If one of those rooms had a single bed I would've suggested that she take it. She did take on a challenging Battle Theatre today, after all, so I think some solid rest is in order."
Nadia immediately responds. "I don't mind who rooms with me," She says, grabbing Jake's attention, "Unwinding sounds great, but I think I'd relax better if I was talking with friends than anything."
"I see," Jake responds slowly, but thinks it over again. "Then in that case..."
"I'll stay with Nadia!" Angel says.
"You won't be too rowdy, will you?" Zinx raises an eyebrow. Angel simply blows a raspberry at him.
"Me and Nadia have had sleepovers before! I'll keep quiet, I promise!" Angel protests, but Zinx doesn't budge.
"Then, Musa, you mind rooming with them?" He looks over at Musa, who thinks it over.
"As long as I don't have to be a constant supervisor," Musa replies, still thinking, "I don't mind who I room with either."
"Then it's settled, at least for Nadia's room," Lucas chimes in, "Then me, Jake, and Zinx will take the second room, while Mabel and Lucy can stay with Millia."
"I have a feeling none of us are gonna abide by the room assignments..." Zinx says, expression turning skeptical quickly. Nadia shakes her head, seemingly agreeing.
"No matter. I will make sure you are all in your assigned rooms before Millia's curfew." Baxley assures. His sharp gaze silences everyone, ensuring there are no objections. "If there are no further questions, I shall take my leave."
"Oh, if I may ask..." Lucy speaks up, "what's the room at the end of the hall over there?" She points at the double doors down the hall.
"Right, I was wondering about that. Is that Mr. Ferrix's room?" Nadia asks. Millia nods quickly.
"Yes, that's daddy's office! But I'm not allowed in when he's not there. It's a big big room! There's a cool fireplace in there with two Shawchi statues on each side! I have to show you when daddy lets us in." She says, eyes sparkling. Musa smiles and pats her hat.
"Let's ask Mr. Ferrix for permission tomorrow then, okay?" She suggests. Millia nods, smile remaining on her face.
"Yes, it is best if you ask Mr. Ferrix tomorrow morning. Mr. Ferrix does not like people in his office when he is not around." Baxley confirms. "Now, if there are no further questions, I would ask that all of you try to get as much sleep as you can tonight. I will return to gather you all for breakfast bright and early in the morning."
"Yes, thank you very much for letting us stay for the night, Baxley." Nadia says, bowing down. Baxley shakes his head.
"It is our pleasure. Please treat this as a favor of hospitality after your bravery at Lotusun Beach. With that, I bid you all good night." Baxley bows back, albeit lower, before exiting the hallway. The group watches him leave, and Jake lets out an audible noise as he stretches.
