"Zinx, we got a problem at the corp."
Zinx was trudging through Route 8, exhausted from the recent UMV adventure when his mom suddenly called out of nowhere. He notified the others, who nod and continue walking as Zinx slows down to the back and answers the watch.
"Do you remember Dr. Haloine?"
Zinx does remember that man, but has only seen him a few times so he doesn't remember what the scientist looks like, nor why his last name sounds like Halloween.
"What about him?"
His mother's hologram sputters for a second before returning to normal. "He said that he was experiencing nightmares of some sort, and had gotten most of the team together to try and stop it, but whatever was in there managed to get the best of us. They're too strong." She explained. "Dr. Haloine asked me to find someone to help us, and I recently heard you managed to crack open our secret."
Zinx visibly gulped. Right. Protogon.
"I'm surprised, and disappointed, but you and your friends have proven yourselves to be capable of holding your own weight, so I'm asking for you to stop by the gate at the Battle Theatre. I'll give more details there." His mom waved a quick goodbye before hanging up. Zinx sighed and caught up with the rest of the group. Musa and Nadia look back at him.
"So what'd your mom need from you?" Nadia asked the boy. The rest of the group stops as well, turning back to look at him.
"We need to go back to Sepharite. Apparently more secrets are within the corporation." He replied, and Nadia, Musa, and Angel exchange looks.
"More stuff?" Lucas inquired, earning a nod from Angel. "Oh, okay then. We'll just wait here." Zinx nodded and the four of them broke off in the opposite direction, back to Sepharite City.
The Battle Theatre wasn't far from the Route 8 entrance, they just had to sprint up an incline to get to the cinema style building. A woman with medium length black hair and brown eyes-Zinx's mother-stood in front of it and checking her watch, only looking up when she heard a few footsteps approaching her.
"Hey, mom," Zinx greeted nonchalantly, slowing down into a jog as he got nearer. "What are the details?"
Zinx understood that his mother needed to put up a professional front, so he wasn't too disturbed by the lack of emotion she exhibited after not seeing her son in person for at least a month.
"Hello there, Zinx. I see you've brought your friends along, too." She eyes the three of them, before looking back at Zinx. "As for the details, Dr. Haloine has been experiencing a recurring nightmare for the past couple of months. Since he believes dreams are a pathway to an alternate dimension, he programmed a machine to make it possible for one person to pass into that dream physically. So, that means you'll have to face on whatever's in there yourself." She looks them over again. "Have you decided on who's going?"
Zinx looks back at the others. Angel shrugged and Musa and Nadia just said, "Go for it." Zinx looked back at his mother and nodded, "I'll be entering the nightmare." Since Igneous Hollow, he's felt pretty excited to be able to fight something.
His mother nods. "Alright, I'll escort you all through that door right there," She points to her left, where a garage door and a normal one stand at the end of a short alley, a guard standing in front of it.
Once inside the lab, everyone could see it looked exactly like how all the other facilities at POLUT Corp. did: a white interior with whiteboards and papers strewn about, and a few machines and Scorbs flying around. This time, the Scorbs were harmless, scanning the three teens (and one preteen) and whizzing past when they realize they weren't harmless.
