If there were two things Chan loved in the world, one of them would be..

The ocean. The sea.

It was something Chan always loved.

Even as a kid. He loved the calm waves, he loved the warmth it brought upon him. Even if not physically, even if he wished it would warm him up, he still liked everything about it.

The faint smell of salt that enveloped him in it's warmth. The beauty of the water as the sun shone down upon it, giving it a beautiful glimmer of light.

He loved how the sea looked when the sun sets.

The warm orange hues mixed with a darker purple and blue never failed to make Chan stare in awe at the beauty. He could never get used to the sight, it's as if everyday, it changes. Even if it was a slight change, Chan always noticed it.

Everyday, it looked a bit different than the last day. And Chan never got used to it. And he hopes he never will. The day where he sits down on the sand and stares at the sunset just to find himself not feeling, giving any type of reaction was a day Chan would always dread.

His love for the sea was undying. Nothing could ever change his view or prevent him from expressing his love for it. Even if his classmates in middle school used to stare at him weird and laugh at him when he would search up pictures of the sea on the school's tablet, he never payed them any mind. The sea was like an artwork. And a piece of art should be admired. Cherished. Loved. Analyzed. And as long as he was alive, he would continue to do those things.

And the second?...

"Are you going to watch the sunset today?"

Jisung flopped down on the couch next to Chan.

He raised his head up, diverting his eyes away from his phone as he looked at Jisung, who was munching on some kind of candy he probably found tucked away for a couple of years inside one of the cupboards.

"Maybe. I don't know yet."

"Got anything to do?" Jisung took a bite out of his... Uh.. Oatmeal bar filled with chocolate and pieces of peanuts???

"Not for now, no."

His brunette friend nodded in acknowledgement.

"By the way, what in the hell are you eating?" Chan really tried to distract himself away from the weird combination of food Jisung has decided to fill his stomach up with for today, Jisung has done, eaten weirder things than this before. So it shouldn't be a problem to ignore it. But Chan couldn't help but think that the Oatmeal bar must have been expired. Okay, sure, Jisung ate many expired foods before despite fully knowing that he should not be consuming it, and he's perfectly fine. But Chan couldn't help but worry.

"Hey, Sung, give me that Oatmeal bar."

Jisung looked at him in offense and fear as if he was the bar. Then shook his head and pulled the treat closer to himself. Eying Chan weirdly as if he was going to assault it or something.

Chan fought the urge to shake his head and sigh in disappointment. He really hasn't changed.

"I won't eat it, I want to see something." He defended, spreading his hand open. Demanding Jisung to give him the bar.

Jisung's face relaxed a bit, reluctantly handing the bar over to Chan.

Chan hummed. Thanking him. Jisung recognised. He always notices that Chan prefers to let out sounds, hums, instead of actually speaking. If someone asks him a question, he hums. If someone thanks him, he hums. If someone apologises, he hums. Jisung doesn't really know why he does it. But he had grown accustomed to it. He heard those sounds way too many times that he could recognise what each of them meant. And he might be called crazy for this. But it's not like he studied them.. Over time, he found himself growing more familiar with each hum and what it meant. That's all it was.
