The charge was sent through her body, a steady flow of electricity coursing through her body as the defibrillator machine let off a loud buzzing sound to indicate that it was doing its job. Ghost watched with intense focus as her heart monitor flatlined, the buzzing from the defibrillator the only sound that was audible in the room. He was holding his breath, praying for the machine to work and bring her back to life. The doctors and nurses watched as the machine buzzed, ready to leap in at any moment if it failed to do its job properly.Slowly but surely, the heart monitor that the doctors were looking at suddenly went from flatlining to a steady, normal rhythm. Her heartbeat had been restored as the defibrillator machine continued to work. The doctors and nurses immediately stepped in to monitor her more closely now, taking her vitals again and making sure she was stable. Ghost was still holding his breath, a sense of relief washing over him as the doctors and nurses stepped in. Her heartbeat was back and that was the most important thing.
The doctors were all now breathing a massive sigh of relief as they looked over your vital indicators and saw that your heartbeat had returned. The medical personnel started to step away and relax a little now, as it looked like the worst was over and you were making a steady recovery. Ghost also breathed out a sigh of relief too, as he had feared the worst and almost thought he had failed to save you. He still didn't want to celebrate until you were actually awake and lucid though, as he wanted to know that you were really going to be alright.
The doctors and nurses were all quietly discussing amoungst themselves, clearly discussing your condition and what was needed for your recovery now. Ghost was still standing there, keeping a watch over you, as he didn't want to leave your side yet until he was sure that you were completely safe and stable. The vital indicators and heart monitor that the doctors had been using to keep tabs on you were still being used, just so they could continue monitoring your recovery. For now, it was a waiting game and everyone was just focusing on the positive.
The moments started to feel like hours as everyone waited for you to start waking up. The doctors and nurses were still quietly discussing your condition amongst themselves, still monitoring your vitals and heart monitor. They were keeping an extra close eye on your pulse and heart rate, making sure that everything stayed stable for you. Ghost still stood by your side in silence, never taking his eyes off of your face, watching every movement of your body carefully to make sure that everything was alright.
The minute hand on the clock slowly reached an hour. Everyone's patience was wearing thin now as they waited for you to wake up. The doctors and nurses had stopped talking and were fully focused on keeping their eyes on your heart monitor, watching over every pulse and beat of your heartbeat. Ghost was still standing over you, never taking his eyes off of your face. The minutes were ticking by excruciatingly slowly, but finally, after another minute passes by, your eyelids start to twitch and flinch slightly...
The twitch of your eyelids was not missed by the medical team, and everyone started to pay very close attention to your every slight physical movement now. Everyone in the room held their breath as your eyelids twitched again, followed by another twitch. They were silently hoping that this sign of movement might indicate her waking up.
Another twitch from your eyelids, followed by an ever so slight movement of your arm... this movement was slow, small and barely noticeable at first, but it was still progress none the less! The medical team were all watching you more closely now, as they felt that the moment of awakening was finally coming closer...
Another twitch of your eyelids, another movement of an arm... your movements were getting quicker now and your eyelids were twitching more often now. You still had your eyes closed, but the twitchy movements indicated that your awakening was finally happening...
The third time that your eyelids twitched, you started to ever so slightly twitch your fingers. The medical team noticed the movement, watching it closely as they waited for your eyes to eventually open. Ghost still stood over you, watching you closely, as he was silently hoping and praying for you to finally wake up.
Your fingers twitched again, this time moving slightly against the blanket that covered you. The medical team watched with bated breath as they waited for you to finally open your eyes. Ghost couldn't help but feel a wave of hope wash over him, knowing that you were getting closer to waking up with every passing moment.
Your eyelids fluttered open, and for a moment, you just stared up at the ceiling, trying to process where you were. The bright lights above you seemed to hurt your eyes, and you instinctively tried to shield them with your hand. Ghost leaned down closer, his voice soft and reassuring as he spoke to you. "Hey, love. It's okay. You're safe now. Can you tell me your name?"
Y/n felt her voice subtly come out groggily. "My name is Y/n, right?"
"Yes...love. You are Y/n."
