"Are you sure you will want to work with the family, I heard they are a very dangerous family" my grandmother said to me walking into my room

"Abuelitaaaaas, we have spoken about this, they might just be sweet people  who knows"

"Ok mija, you can go work at the mansion, but don't forget, if anything is not working well for you, you can always come home okk"

"Yes, Abuelita, I love you" I said kissing her on the cheek.

I took my last bag which is my hand bag and headed to the taxi waiting for me at my abuelitas house.
I looked at the house and at Abuelita and gave her a hug followed by a peck on the cheek as I worked into the taxi and waved our final good bye.

It was a long and quiet journey for about half and hour when the taxi driver broke the silence.
"So you are going to be working for the most richest family in the whole country." The driver said to me.

"Yeah I guess so' I replied looking at his directions

"Well my dear, you need to be careful because rumors has it that, the Thompson family are killer and they deal with drugs they  are crime bosses, so you need to be careful you see something, you pretend you are not there" the driver said to me with a smile on his face.

"Oh thank you, for the advice, believe me I will be fine" I said giving him a smile back

I stood outside the grand mansion, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves. I had never worked as a maid before, but I needed the job desperately. My family was counting on me, and I couldn't let them down.

As I smoothed my skirt and took a deep breath, the heavy wooden doors swung open, and a stern-looking old woman greeted me.

"Sophia, welcome. I'm Mrs. Jenkins, the housekeeper. You're the new maid, correct?"

I nodded, trying to hide my intimidation.

"Follow me, please."

Mrs. Jenkins led me through opulent hallways and lavish rooms, explaining the rules and duties. I tried to absorb everything, but my mind wandered to the rumors I'd heard about the Thompson family. They were powerful, ruthless, and feared by all.

As we approached the bedroom wing, I caught a glimpse of a woman with piercing green eyes and raven-black hair. She was stunning, but her gaze sent shivers down my spine.

"That's Ms. Thompson the only daughter to Mr Andrew and mrs Rose, she is your new employer," Mrs. Jenkins whispered. "Remember, discretion is key in this household."

I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation as I began my new life as a maid in the Thompson mansion.

As I followed Mrs. Jenkins, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The mansion was grand and beautiful, but it felt oppressive, like a weight was pressing down on me. I tried to shake off the feeling, telling myself it was just nerves.

We reached a door that led to a spacious bedroom, and Mrs. Jenkins gestured for me to enter. "This is your room, Sophia. You'll be sleeping here, and you'll start your duties tomorrow morning at 6 am sharp."

I nodded, taking in the room. It was simple but comfortable, with a single bed and a dresser against one wall. I noticed a small window high up on the wall, and I felt a pang of longing for the freedom to come and go as I pleased.

As I began to unpack my bag, Mrs. Jenkins handed me a uniform. "You'll wear this while you're working. And remember, Sophia, you're here to serve the Thompson family. Discretion is key."
