Most people cry
I do too
But sometimes the tears don't come
Sometimes I have no strength to cry
So words become my tears
They spill onto the page
Letters like raindrops
Words like puddles
Sentences like waterfalls
Stanzas like rivers
Poetry like oceans.
I speak my tears
When my eyes won't water
When my pain is nothing but my mind
I pour my tears onto paper
And watch the water become words
Because when I can't cry
Poetry is all I have
So I speak my tears.
