The oncoming Maintain is pivoted on and beaten by two Sparks from Chinchou, and luckily, Politoed is back on the field, which means that I get to stall out the regional Gothorita some more through triple recovery, further boosted by this mon's Rock/Water typing.

Or... this is what would have happened if I didn't get crit twice in a row. Couldn't really play around that either considering this thing still has Shadow Tag. Unfortunate doesn't even begin to describe this series of events. This loss is genuinely tragic. I'm not going to pretend that I love Lombre with all my heart, or that I was looking forward to a Ludicolo I wasn't sure would even come.
