Their Songs + My rate
1st Album: Black Mamba
1. Black Mamba ( My rate is 6/6)
"Black Mamba" is a song by South Korean girl group aespa. The song is about exploring one's own identity and resisting the temptation to conform to a single identity. The song's title symbolizes the 'black mamba', a type of snake known for its speed and toxic venom, suggesting that embracing one's own identity is a powerful act. Musically, the song is an upbeat blend of electronic music with rap sections and catchy choruses, delivering a message of self-empowerment and individuality. Black Mamba is a villain in Aespa's lore. Her character is based on the venomous snake of the same name. She is first seen and represented by a black mamba. She is also the song's main focus. Black Mamba was created in KWANGYA by the "insatiable desires" of humans. By imitating the negative behavior of humans, she gained tremendous power. Believing that mankind saw ae as nothing but products that could be easily deleted and that they are better off without them, she caused the SYNK OUT. When the Aespa girls came to KWANGYA, she toyed with them by using her powers to create hallucinations of what they feared the most (such as high expectations and rumors for Karina, hate comments for Ningning, etc). Using this tactic, she nearly manipulates Karina into destroying her form, which is represented in the music video for Black Mamba as she caresses Karina's cheek ominously. However, Karina breaks free of her control. The other girls free themselves of the hallucinations and fight Black Mamba, during which she showcases regenerative and shapeshifting powers and causes a power outage throughout the world in her rage. The girls end up winning the battle with the help of Nævis, leaving Black Mamba with a cut on her cheek that she cannot regenerate and destroying the jewel on her hand that seems to power her. Her fate is ambiguous, as after that she is seen as a statue giving her powers to BoA. Overall I like this song, is a very good start, and as a debut song, it makes you think that these girls have a lot of future. You did it SM ent, you make an amazing group with potential. Best in this song: Karina's "I'm addicted", a good powerful start.
2nd Album: Forever
1. Forever ( My rate is 2/6)
The song "Forever (약속)" by aespa (에스파) is an uplifting and heartfelt love song that expresses a commitment to being there for someone through thick and thin. The lyrics portray the deep connection and understanding between two people in a relationship, emphasizing the intention to love and support each other forever. The song has been described as a mid-tempo R&B ballad with an acoustic guitar sound and string instruments playing in the background. Is a calm Christmas song with a lot of vocals. Best in this song: Winter, I think this song fits her soft voice.
3rd Album: Next Level
1. Next Level ( My rate is 5/6)
"Next Level" by aespa is a powerful anthem that depicts the group's unwavering determination to confront and defeat the menacing force known as Black Mamba. The lyrics convey a sense of empowerment and resilience as the members of the group embark on a journey to the 'wilderness' to confront their adversary. The song encourages listeners to push themselves to the next level, to break through barriers and obstacles, and to never give up on their dreams. Through themes of unity, growth, and overcoming challenges, "Next Level" serves as a motivational reminder to strive for greatness and face adversity head-on in order to achieve success and reach new heights. In this song, I love how the beat and the music change all the time ( something Aespa's songs have), is like you have many songs in one. "Next Level" is described as a hip-hop dance song that includes a groovy rap, a bass riff that is overflowing with energy, and Aespa's powerful vocals. The lyrics contain a story about Aespa's journey into KWANGYA as they try to find an evil being called "Black Mamba". Best in this song: Ningning, best hair era, and her vocals are in her best era.
