Caught in Between

A Declaration of War! Part 1

"Yugi! Are you ready yet? We got to go to school!"

After the encounter of meeting the third-years, Malik and Ryou didn't want to leave Yugi alone, after all they couldn't leave their "little brother" by himself with a bunch of "wild animals", right? Grandpa, (who had already introduced himself to the two brothers) chuckled, "Sorry for the long wait, I hope you don't mind." Ryou flashed a smile, "No worries, it's still early, so he can take all the time he needs," he replied, while Malik was staring at what Grandpa had prepared for Yugi: Scrabbled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and toast.

Grandpa noticed this and became amused, "By chance, did you boys eat breakfast this morning?" That questioned was than answered by Malik's and Ryou's stomach. "Uh, to be honest, no." Grandpa threw back his head and laughed, "Well why didn't you just say so? Come, sit yourselves down and eat!" "Oh no, we simply cannot----" "Ryou! If he says it's alright, than it's alright!" Ryou glared at Malik,who was serving himself to some pancakes, "You sometimes have a nut as a brain really."

Before Malik could reply, Yugi came running down the stairs; though he had his uniform on, he had horrible bed hair, he had only one shoe on, and his backpack..."Yugi, where's your backpack?" Ryou asked. Realizing that he didn't have his bag, Yugi blushed as he ran back up stairs than came back down with his bag. "Sorry about that! The alarm on my clock didn't go off again! Now I made you guys late for school! Sorry!"

Ryou simply waved it off, "Actually Yugi, there is enough time for breakfast, it's still early to go to school. Don't worry about us, okay? Now come sit down, and eat!" he said with a smile. Yugi, once again, looked confused until he looked at the clock in the kitchen. "Really?! Grandpa, I think the clock in my room is broken." Grandpa laughed, "Actually, your parents told me to set the alarm at that time. Told me that you would always go to school late and have no breakfast. You need to eat my boy!"

Ryou nodded it agreement, "Your grandpa told us that when you were upstairs, and he is right. Now sit down, Grandpa already invited me and Malik for breakfast, right Mal-----OH MY RA! MALIK WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

While Ryou started yelling at Malik who had almost eaten all the food, with Yugi and Grandpa laughing in the background, Yugi made his way towards the fridge. "That's alright Ryou, I could make more, and besides, I need to add a few more things to my lunch!"

This got Malik's attention, "Oh~, So what's for lunch today?~" Ryou smacked him on the head, "Not for you!" "Actually, I made enough for everyone today, kind of got caught in the culinary mode." Ryou sighed, by smiled, "You're too nice Yugi, too nice. Alright than, then you sit down and we will make you and your grandfather breakfast today!"

Malik snickered, "You and what army?" Ryou smiled devilishly, "Why you and me, of course, or do you have a problem with that? After all, you are the one who ate an entire breakfast meal that could feed four people..." By than, Malik had threw on an apron and grabbed a whisk and spatula. "LET'S GET COOKING!!!!"

"Malik, stop eating Yugi's lunch, you already eaten most of his breakfast!"

It was already lunch time, and the students were either making their way to the courtyard of the school or to the cafeteria. In Yugi's case, it was the courtyard, since he couldn't help making Ryou, Malik, and himself lunch. Today's lunch: steamed rice, cooked fish, a refreshing salad, and sweet tea. For dessert, lemon tarts with homemade whipped cream. It may had seemed like a fancy lunch, but than again, Yugi was now known to make little things wonderfully fancy.

"Grandpa made the fish, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he wanted more," Yugi giggled. Malik nodded his head up and down, "IT WAS SO GOOD!! I NEED MORE! YUGI, ARE YOU GONNA FINISH---" Before he could finish, Ryou smacked the back of Malik's head.
