A red dot suddenly appeared on my screen so I turned and looked behind us. One organic was running off, away from the battle. At first, I thought he was running away but then he turned sharply and ducked into a hidden door which my sensors told me led to a massive room underground.
"Hey! That guy just-!" I called and turned to get someone but no one was paying attention. I ran over to Skids and shook his arm, "Skids! One of them just disappeared into some kind of bunker!"
"Don' worry, he's a probably just heidin'," The blue man grinned and patted my helm before shooting down one of the large armored beings, "Don' tink about it."
But that's all I could do. Something nabbed in my spark so I determinedly ran off in that direction. Approaching, I found a metal door that led to stairs and a dark passageway. I took a deep breath and went down it, holding up the gun I'd been given.
Keeping one servo on the wall, I slowly made my way down the steps, almost tripping and falling a few times until I was about 30 feet underground. The ground evened out and led to a longer passage until I could see light coming from the room in which it ended.
I crept along it, peeking into the room. The green organic I'd seen earlier was there, standing next to a pale blue one in a lab coat with some kind of glasses on its head. They both stood in front of a massive device. A clear glass cylinder rose up all the way to the ceiling, some kind of black liquid swirling around inside of it.
I didn't know much, but I knew a bomb when I saw one.
The present——————
I let out a small exhale and looked around the room that was deemed mine. It was small but bigger than my one on the Ark. It was square with a platform that went straight up, the only way to access it being four steps carved in going up to it with a desk next to a window. One wall in the far left corner was slanted, a berth fitted to flit the slant and ended where the platform rose. A second empty one was to my left, pushed into the corner furthest from the door.
The right wall was caved in to make three shelves that cascaded down in steps. The rest of the room was bare and empty, ready to be decorated with furniture and personal belongings.
Only I had none as well as no Shanix to buy things.
Still, I walked over and lay down on the berth. Ironic how it was laid like this. Pushed into an alcove to make it like a cozy nest, just how I liked it. All I needed were some blankets and pillows and I'd fall asleep the instant I lay down.
I blinked, feeling a smile coming onto my lips and reaching up to the ceiling for no reason.
Was this it? Was I safe at home?
I couldn't help but start laughing, my servo flopping back down onto the berth as I couldn't fully process that this was real.
"Sooo, you sure you ain't going insane?"
I jumped at the voice in my doorway, having forgotten to close the door behind me.
The mech called Black Shadow stood there, arms crossed as he leaned in the frame and grinned at me.
"Sorry, I just can't believe this is actually happening," I laughed, getting off and walking over. He towered over me, basically two helms taller and I had to crane my neck to look up at him, "Can I help you with something?"
"Yeah, Soundwave wanted me to check ya over and evaluate yer level of fighting skills." He said with an accent that sounded kind of like it was from one of the cowboy movies Rewind played, "Since everyone else's currently findin' what they can do, he figured I could help ya since I taught bots back in the war."
