A CRUCIAL PART OF THE EIGHTH GRADE experience in Royal Woods was the popular Class Cookout. It had been a tradition ever since Lori's classmate proposed it, and every single Loud sibling had their turn to go through it, being now Lynn's.

And, in all honesty, she wasn't excited.

The thing about Class Cookout is that it's the one time of the year where a whole class has a taste of how's it like to live in the Loud house. The fixed place to hold was always the Cedar Ridge Camping Retreat at the entrance of the city, and the only condition needed to participate was to bring your family to share a recreational space with the rest of your classmates, with activities that allowed everyone to meet each other and bond.

This clearly wasn't planned with a family of thirteen in mind, in which chaos prevailed over manners.

And the truth is every Class Cookout they'd been invited to had gone horrendously wrong, to the point that public humiliation to the Loud kid in the grade also became part of the tradition. Lola accidentally poisoned Leni's class by adding glitter to the food. Luna had to fight a muscular jock as payback for Lana getting him and his gang harmed by bear traps. Luan had to spend the rest of her eighth grade collecting money from stand up shows to pay for the family car of the most popular girl after Lisa blew it up with an experiment. During Lori's Cookout, Lucy awoke a bunch of bats from their slumber and ordered them to attack the person with the brightest clothing, which ended up giving the class' teacher rabies (and they were only nine siblings back then...).
