-Jahaan-

I see my mother lost in her thoughts while standing near the kitchen counter. I know she is thinking about that bastard. I walk towards her and hug her from the back. She first flinches but relaxes once she notices it is me.

"I will not let that bastard lay a finger on you, mummy. You know that, right?" I ask her.

"I know, Jahaan. I am just scared for you. What if he does something to you? And now, he even knows Dhivti. What if something happens to her or Sheetal? How will I ever forgive myself?"

"Nothing will happen. To anyone. I promise you, mummy. Also, I have called inspector Karan, he is soon sending protection, okay?" she just nods her head. She is over-thinking.

"No overthinking ma'am, the psychologist in me will be awakened," I say dramatically to lighten up the mood.

'Oh no, I can't bear the grumpy psychologist," she says and I playfully glare at her.

"Don't you think you have something to tell me?" she wiggles her eyebrows.

Oh no. Here it is. Dhivti Verma interrogation. I knew this was coming.

"What? That I am the most handsome man alive?" I say, innocently. She glares at me.

"Tell me."

I sigh.

"I love her." her eyes widen while I rub my nape.

"And her?"

"Not yet. She likes me."

"She told you?" I laugh slightly while shaking my head.

"Dhivti Verma is a closed book and I am that stubborn reader who will read each and every page of the book. All the chapters. All the words. The grievous parts and the ecstatic parts, especially the grievous parts."

"She herself doesn't know. She doesn't know that she likes me but I see it. However much she tries to hide it, she can't. Why do you think she came to me today? She even noticed my wounded hands yet I didn't even realize that my hands were bruised. She went to get a first aid kit and tended my wounds. Why? Everytime I compliment her, flirt with her or be close to her, she is a blushing mess. Everytime she tries to hide the emotions from her eyes, she just can't."

"You know, the first time my eyes met hers, I could only see emptiness in them. Her eyes held no emotion and no life. I became curious and desperate to find some sort of emotion in her eyes. Anything. Then, I fell in love. It became easier to read her eyes even though she tried her best not to show. I had to literally fall in love with her in order to read her beautiful doe eyes," I chuckle.

I look at my mother to find tears in her eyes.

"Mummy, what happened?"

"I am happy. My son is in love," she says and takes me for a hug. I chuckle at her excitement.

"Okay okay, now sleep. It is late," I tell her and we both go to our rooms.

I check on Dhivti.

Jahaan

Reached?

Dhivti

Yes, Mr. Joshi. Just reached.

Jahaan

It is Jahaan for you.

Dhivti
