Poppy and Branch got distracted while baking cookies.
The cookies were a little burned but Branch didn’t care. He adjusted his shirt before waving away the slightly smoky air in the kitchen as Poppy carefully pulled the hot tray out of the oven, her ponytail slightly askew.
“Aw crap,” she said as she looked down at the charred edges of the cookies before smiling at Branch apologetically. “Sorry, I shoulda set a timer…”
The teal troll waved her off with a laugh, noticing that her shirt was buttoned up wrong. “Do you really think a timer would have stopped us?”
Poppy grinned, setting the tray on the oven, “I guess not… So much for the cookies…”
“As if a little ash is gonna stop me from eating them,” Branch chuckled as he grabbed a spatula. He poked at the nearest cookie but the thing was pretty stuck to the tray. “Ok, they might come off in pieces,” he said as he pressed a little harder. “They’ll still be fine.”
“If you say so…” Poppy said hesitantly as she watched him struggle with freeing the cookies. “But maybe we should pick the timing of our make out sessions a little better…”
