TTBGO/TrollsTopia: The Tales of Broppy

February 1st: Dark

Branch wants to help Poppy get over with one of her fears.

"Poppy, aren't you getting a little old for this?" The teal troll asked.

"Branch, please," The Pop Queen whined.

"Alright," Poppy said with a sigh as he turned on the nightlight and walked over to their bed. Poppy quickly snuggled up to him once he was under the covers.

"Thank you, Branch," The Pop Queen said with a big smile.

"Poppy, don't you think you should try going without the nightlight soon?" Branch asked.

"No," Poppy whined clinging tighter to Branch. "You know I'm scared of the dark."

"I know," The teal troll said wrapping his arms around her. "But maybe you should find a way to conquer that fear. It's just the dark. Nothing's gonna hurt you."

"Don't want to," Poppy pouted.

"Come on, Poppy," The teal troll said. "There's no need to pout. You're 22 now."

"I don't care," Poppy said. "I just don't like the dark."

"Okay," Branch said. "But why?"

"Huh?" Poppy asked.

"Why are you scared of the dark?" Branch asked.

"I don't know," The Pop Queen said. "I just always get nervous that there's something there. I mean a lot of the monsters that came out of nowhere."

"That may be true," Branch said. "But I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you."

"Promise?" The Pop Queen asked using her big puppy eyes.

"Promise," Branch said with a gentle smile.

"Alright," The Pop Queen said. "I'll go without the nightlight tonight."

"Okay," Branch said getting up again. He leaned down and paused just in front of the switch. "I'm going to turn it off now, okay?"

"Okay," Poppy said gripping the sheets. Branch flicked the switch, and the room was engulfed in darkness.

"Branch," The Pop Queen whined.

"I'm coming, Poppy," The teal troll said as he got back into bed and under the sheets. Poppy immediately clung to him and shook.

"Poppy" The teal troll gently said as he placed his arms around her. "It's alright. I'll always protect you."

"Thank you, Branch," The Pop Queen said as she closed her eyes and attempted to get some sleep as Branch did the same.

Poppy slept soundly that night and was able to for many other nights without the nightlight. She knew she wouldn't have to fear the dark or anything else as long as her Branch was there with her.
