She's human.

Suho never thought it was even possible. A wolf and a human? Just thinking about it was absurd. There was no such thing. He couldn't be destined to someone like her... A mere human.

But the signs were there: the undeniable attraction, the rapid beating of his heart when she was near, and the way everything seemed to disappear; his vision focusing solely on her as if she was the only person in the world. To Suho, everything was dull but when he was with her, everything comes alive. Everything makes sense with her.

"Are you sure, hyung?" Baekhyun asked, one of the members of his pack. He had found his mate a few months ago, while they were passing through a small town somewhere in the countryside. Suho saw how he had changed. His smiles were brighter when he was with her; his movements sharper and more focused. He was stronger—better. His mate had completed him and Suho never admitted it but he was quite jealous of it. From his pack, he was the only one who hadn't found his mate. He was starting to wonder if there was something wrong with him or if he'll ever find a mate.

Well now he has found her...and he has confirmed that there's something really wrong with him since his mate happens to be human; which was supposed to be impossible.

"Yes. It's her. She's the one." Suho said as he looked out the window.

"I sensed her when we moved here. I ignored it at first but when I saw her the other day, I was sure." It was a coincidence that the human girl—his mate—happened to live right across the house they had acquired. He watched her, as she played with a golden retriever in her front yard. Suho stared at her, noticing every detail with his sharp senses: the way her hair looked when the sun hit it, the way her eyes lit up when the dog followed her order, and even the way her mouth turned up at the corners as she smiled. He chuckled when she huffed cutely when the dog left running instead of following her. She was trying to teach him how to roll over.

"A human." Kyungsoo said with an astonished tone. "I've never heard of such thing before."

"Me neither." Luhan added as a little kid, his son, jumped onto his lap. Suho glanced at them and felt a slight pang of jealousy.

"Look guys, will you just stop thinking about negative things and just be happy for our, hyung?" Kai said with a big smile. "He's finally found his mate!"

Everyone started nodding and smiling, seeing the bright side of the situation. They all knew how Suho had waited for her—how he'd longed to meet his mate. He was the last of the pack to finally find their mate. "Well hyung, what are you waiting for?" Chen clapped him on the shoulder. "Got get her!"

Suho gave his pack a smile as he walked out the door, ready and ecstatic to face the love of his life. But at the same time he was worried... worried at the fact that she was different from him.

Could she, a fragile & beautiful human, even love a wolf—a beast—like me?, he thought.

Suho crossed thre street and approached her, initiating a casual greeting. "Hi."

The girl looked up and at him and paused. She looked at him curiously, as if trying to decipher if she knew this person or not. She had that feeling of familiarity though she swore she had never seen him before. "Hello," she gave a friendly smile. "Can I help you?"

"I'm Suho." He said as he reached out his hand towards her. He couldn't help feeling the spark as there hands connected. The girl gasped slightly and he hoped it was what he thought she felt. "I live right across from you."

"Oh! You're our new neighbor!" She said happily. "I'm Jin-Hee. Welcome to the neighborhood."

Jin-Hee...

Suho thought at how beautiful her name was. He nodded and then pointed at her dog, "Nice dog you got there." He was about to pat him when she said, "Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you, he tends to be—"

Suho patted the dog who relaxed at his touch. Being a wolf, Suho knew how animal's mind worked. He could understand them and knew exactly how to approach them. The dog snuggled closer to his leg as he scratched it beneath his ears.

"Wow." The girl said looking completely surprised at her dog's behavior. "He doesn't usually warm up to strangers like this." She smiled up at him. "You must be special."

"Or maybe it's just the dog in me." Suho face palmed himself mentally at his lame joke. Dog in me, he scoffed.

Jin-Hee giggled as he called her dog over, but it didn't leave Suho's side. This caused her to pout which Suho found really cute. "He seems to like you very much. I think I'm getting replaced."

Suho shrugged and chuckled, making Jin-Hee smile as he watched the beautiful man in front of her. She couldn't understand the undeniable attraction she felt towards him but whatever it was, it felt good...it felt right.

"Would you like to come inside?" She suddenly asked "I've made some cookies this morning. Maybe you'd like to try one?"

Suho smiled back, "I'd love to."

Jin-Hee grinned at seeing his beautiful smile. Her heart raced as he continued to gaze at her, wondering how he could possibly make her feel this way when they had just met.

He's really something, she thought.

Suho didn't know what lies ahead of them as he followed her into her home. But one thing's for sure: she was the one. And he's going to do everything to make it work.

He's going to make the beauty fall in love with the beast.
