Thea wasn't sure who was more nervous for the Waynes to arrive. Her or her mother, though she really didn't understand why her mom was so nervous, since the Queen Family was just as prestigious as the Wayne Family while she was the one who was meeting her girlfriend's parents for the first time.
"Thea calm down, remember, even if Helena's parents don't like you for some reason, like them being insane, Helena does and I don't think that will ever change." Oliver told her as he calmed her down as there was a knock on the door and Raisa was the one to get it and Thea smiled when she saw Helena walk into the house with a man who looked a few years older than her brother walked in with a woman who could only be Helena's mother. Helena's father was also carrying a large metal case.
"Mr. and Mrs. Wayne, it's nice to finally meet you." Thea said politely to her girlfriend's parents.
"And it's nice to finally put a face to the person Helena's been going on and on about for the past few months." Bruce said with a smile as Helena blushed.
"Dad." Helena complained and Thea smiled.
"It's nice to know you're being as supportive as my mom and brother were when I came out to them." Thea said as she shook Bruce's hand.
"It's nice to meet the young girl who's made my Helena happier than I've seen her in a long time." Selina said and Helena blushed at how embarrassing her parents were already being. It made it even harder to believe what her father's night job was.
"Thank you. It's nice to know that she's told you such nice things about me." Thea said as Bruce turned his attention to Oliver.
"Oliver Queen, I saw your return on the news. Welcome back to the land of the living." Bruce said as he held out his hand to Oliver, who shook it.
"Thanks. I'm glad to be home." Oliver said.
"I spent some time in the east as well, though I admit, I was over there willingly, unlike you." Bruce said.
"It was hell, but the important thing is that I made it home." Oliver said and Bruce nodded and Oliver could've sworn he saw a familiar look in Bruce's eyes. The look of a survivor who'd gone through hell and back and came out a different man afterwards. The reason he knew that look is because he sees it in his own eyes everytime he looks in the mirror.
"We were also sorry to hear about your father's passing. Bruce met him a few times at various CEO events." Selina said.
"Thank you. I just wish that we could recover my father's body to give him a proper funeral." Oliver said, since even though he'd given his father a makeshift grave on Lian Yu, he wasn't about to announce that, especially since he didn't want Thea to know how their father had really died. The only person he'd told about that was Laurel, since he'd come clean to her about everything, since he didn't want to keep any secrets from her now that he was back.
"Can we talk in private? I'd like to discuss your community center plans for a little bit before we eat." Bruce said.
"Yeah, we can talk in my old room." Oliver said as he led Bruce upstairs.
"What are they talking about?" Thea asked her girlfriend, who shrugged.
"Trust me, it's better for your mental health if you don't try to figure out what's going on in my dad's head. But he was sincere about wanting to help your brother fund his community center." Helena said and Thea nodded.
"Well, while they talk and lunch is finished, why don't I give you two a tour of the house before my mom decides to monopolize the conversation." Thea said as she led the two other women further into the house.
"So, where should we start our conversation?" Oliver asked after he led Bruce into his old room, only for his combat reflexes to kick in just in time for him to whirl around and catch something Bruce had just flung at him in his fingers.
"What the hell?" Oliver asked, only to pause when he saw what the item in his hand was. A bat shaped boomerang. A batarang.
"Is this what I think it is?" Oliver asked.
"That depends on if you think it's a batarang, because it is." Bruce said.
"You're Batman and you likely have an idea of what I went through." Oliver said.
"And what you're planning now that you're home. I've been keeping tabs on you since you came back to Star City two years ago and no, Helena has no idea about that, since I didn't want to put her in that position with Thea, though she does know my secret and so does my wife. I'm well aware of everything you've done and your teachers. Especially since we have one in common. A woman named Talia. Talia al Ghul." Bruce said.
"Daughter of Ra's al Ghul, I've heard of him and a lot of things about Talia suddenly make sense." Oliver and Bruce chuckled.
"You have no idea. But take it from someone who made the mistake of trusting Talia, don't. She'll turn on you the moment it's convenient for her, her only true loyalty is to herself." Bruce said.
"Yeah, I got that impression from her, but she does seem to have some kind of code of honor?" Oliver asked.
"It depends on if that code of honor will help her achieve her goal. But warning you about Talia isn't the only reason I'm here and neither is meeting my daughter's girlfriend. After I realized what you were planning, I made some calls and had something made for you. I think you'll like it a lot better than what Talia gave you." Bruce said as he placed the case on the bed and opened it to reveal a dark green hooded suit.
"You had a suit made for me?" Oliver asked.
"It's made out of the same material my batsuit is and includes a mask that's designed not to impair your vision." Bruce said.
"It does look a bit more armored than the suit Talia gave me." Oliver said.
"I know. And since you can't exactly fund your operations with Queen Consolidated right now, Wayne Enterprises will cover it, just like mine." Bruce said.
"I appreciate that." Oliver said, since that was honestly a relief.
"You should consider bringing your sister into the fold since she is being groomed to take over your family's company, which means that she'll be able to help fund your operation and I don't think you should loop your mother in. At least not right now." Bruce said.
"I'll think about it. But thank you for this Bruce. Now, let's talk about the actual center, which will be built above my base of operations like you probably guessed." Oliver said and Bruce nodded.
Okay, just to clarify for everyone, the actor who plays Bruce Wayne in this series is none other than Jensen Ackles, Selina Kyle is played by Eliza Dushku and Helena is played by Hailee Steinfeld, since as the daughter of Bruce and Selina, she can't exactly look like the daughter of Frank Bertinelli anymore.
