The remainder of my shift blew over with ease. It went quick after Yeju went home, she was odd, I don't know how to describe it to you, but she was just a strange individual overall.

Same with Yoonsik, specifically only today though. Usually, he was more talkative and bubblier than whatever he was today.

We were clearing up the kitchen, Jake included, cleaning up his mess of almond mixture on the floor.

It was dark outside, and not to mention chilly, so, the warm atmosphere inside, followed with the warmth of the actual baked goods, made me dread heading back home.

"We closing up now?" Jake inquired, since we were finished with all the clearing up and fixing tables and whatnot.

"Yeah, I think that's pretty much it." I looked around just incase, and Yoonsik just leant against the counter, grumpy.

"You here tomorrow, Jake?" He actually spoke. I think out of the whole day today, he spoke a total of five times, excluding the times he had to speak to customers.

"As in working? No, probably not. I might stop by though, if somebody's brother doesn't behead me by tomorrow." Jake chuckled, and I gave a laugh at his comment.

I was counting the cash in the register for the night, when a hand rest on the side of my hip, and the other untied my apron for me.

I shot my head to the side, seeing Jake undoing my apron for me. I spun around, looking up at him as he just gave a faint smile.

"Doing you a favour, don't throw hands at me." He said, probably only because I looked at him as if he just commit a diabolical crime.

My face was stained with a smile, literally throughout the whole day, all I could do was smile and laugh. I took my apron off, giving it to him and continuing doing whatever I was doing.

And just like that, the bakery closed. Yoonsik left immediately after I shut it, he didn't say goodnight, let alone a goodbye, just simply took his stuff and left.

I faced Jake, as he just stared at me, with such an irresistible smile on his face. He fixed the hood of my coat, observing my face in this hazy lighting.

"So, what'd you think of your learning experience?" I asked him as we both walked towards wherever Jake parked his car.

"Let me know if Yoonsik ever quits, I'll be down to take the job, he looked mad depressed today." Jake's cheeks rose with a smile.

"Usually he's not like that, I don't know, maybe a bad day for him today." I shrugged, but I reckon I knew exactly why he acted the way he did.

Jake clearly also knew the exact reason as to why Yoonsik was acting like this, all he did was give a light laugh to himself.

"You working on your birthday?" He inquired, switching the topic onto my birthday for a change.

"Mm, no, but I think I'm stopping by the bakery because Yoonsik's birthday is a day before mine, and we usually celebrate together." I thought for a while, inhaling the cold air, "Why?"

"Just wondering, you and Yoonsik seem pretty close." Jake mentioned, and I just gave a light smirk at his words.

What is this? Jealousy or something?

"Does it bother you?" I mimicked his words from earlier, and he just turned to look at me, that singular, sharp gaze of his spoke volumes beyond level of comprehension.

He faced forward, unlocking his car.

I sat inside, and so did he, and as soon as he began driving, he spoke.

"What if I told you it did?" He answered my question from before now. I gazed over to him, my lips gently parted at his words.

He was never not bold with his words. At least that's what I thought anyways, he spoke his mind, and had no shame in it.

"Looks like you're gonna have to suck it up." I cunningly replied, pretty satisfied with my answer, "Sometimes not everything goes your way."

Jake was silent for a moment, thinking to himself. He had this thing where he poked his cheek every time he thought hard, or was simply thinking of something.

"That's a shame, because everything always goes my way." His words were sharp, and judging from his tone alone, you could tell he was not lying.

He parked up beside my house, and before I left, I turned to look at him. He stared back at me, intrigued at what I had to reply with.

"You're already on thin ice with this thing we have going on, I wouldn't recommend going any further." I chuckled to myself, opening the door and about to step out.

"I don't take recommendations." Jake had to get the last word in, with a smirk, "I'll see you later, then."

And as I stepped out, heading to my door, he drove off, engine probably waking up half the neighbourhood.
