"NAYEONIE!!"
After a long ass 12 hour flight from Los Angeles, Nayeon and Jimin finally arrived to Seoul.
As they walked out of the arrivals gate, Nayeon immediately spotted a familiar trio holding a huge sign that read "Welcome Back Nayeon and Jimin!" Momo, Sana, and Jihyo were all there, waving at them with excitement.
Nayeon couldn't contain her joy. She let out a squeal and rushed over to her friends, her suitcase trailing behind her. As she approached, Momo and Sana dropped the sign and opened their arms wide. Nayeon leaped into their embrace, wrapping her arms around both of them. Momo and Sana kissed her cheeks repeatedly, laughing and chattering all at once.
"Oh my God, I missed you all so much!" Nayeon's voice muffled by the kisses.
"We missed you more!" Sana replied, her eyes sparkling with joy.
Momo nodded, "Seoul wasn't the same without you, Nayeonnie!"
Jihyo stood a step back, arms crossed with a playful smirk on her face. "Alright, alright, don't suffocate her," she teased, rolling her eyes dramatically.
Nayeon pulled back from the hug, looking at Jihyo with a wide grin. "Come here, Jihyo!" she said, reaching out to her.
Jihyo stepped forward and hugged Nayeon warmly. "It's good to have you back, Nayeon," she said softly.
As they pulled away, Nayeon turned at Sana. "You'll be staying with Momo, Jihyo and me at our apartment," Sana announced.
Nayeon's eyes lit up. "Really? That's awesome! I can't wait to catch up on everything."
Jimin, who has been watching, now stepped forward. "Nayeon, I'll be staying at my parents' house for a while," he said. "I need to spend some time with them."
Nayeon turned to Jimin, "That's okay, Jimin. It'll give us both some time to settle back in."
He nodded, looking relieved. "Yeah, I think it'll be good for both of us."
Momo clapped her hands together. "Alright, let's get going then. We have so much to talk about!"
As they gathered their things and started towards the exit, Nayeon felt a rush of emotions. It felt like she was right at home. She glanced at her friends and then at Jimin, who was now on the phone with his parents.
When they reached the parking area, Momo and Sana helped Nayeon load her luggage into the trunk of their car. Jimin waved at them as he headed towards a different section where his ride was waiting.
"See you soon, babe!" he called out. "Text me if you need anything."
"I will! See you soon, Jimin!" Nayeon replied, giving him a wave.
As they drove away, Nayeon settled into the back seat, sandwiched between Momo and Sana, Jihyo was driving.
"So, what's the first thing you want to do now that you're back?" Momo asked, turning to look at Nayeon.
Nayeon leaned back, feeling a sense of contentment. "Honestly, I just want to hang out with you guys. I've missed you all so much."
Sana reached over and squeezed Nayeon's shoulders. "Well, you're in luck. We have the whole day planned out."
Jihyo chuckled from the front seat. "Yeah, and you're not going to get a moment's rest. We have so much to catch up on. Well, after Sana and Tzuyu's wedding, of course."
Nayeon laughed, feeling a warmth spread through her, surrounded by her friends.
Time skip...
It was a peaceful night in Seoul right now. Nayeon, Momo, Sana, and Jihyo sat in circle in the living room as they shared a few bottles of soju. The air was filled with sounds of laughter and clinking glasses.
Momo leaned back on the couch, a mischievous grin on her face as she recounted one of her favourite stories. "OH! Nayeon, I have a funny story to tell you." she began, her words slightly slurred from the alcohol. "During Mina's birthday last year, Sana had a bit too much to drink, and Tzuyu, kissed her hand."
Sana gasped, "MOMO! STOP" she tried to block Momo's mouth with her hands, her cheeks flushing red.
Momo continued, ignoring Sana's protest. "Sana was so surprised she passed out right there on the spot! It was like watching a drama unfold in real life."
Jihyo burst into laughter, nearly spilling her drink. "I remember that! Tzuyu was so confused, she kept asking if Sana was okay."
Sana's embarrassment quickly turned into playful anger. "Momo, you always bring this up! It's not fair!"
Nayeon chuckled, enjoying the story between her friends. The room was filled with a light-hearted energy, the kind that only close friends could create. But as the laughter died down, Nayeon's expression turned serious. She took a deep breath, deciding it was time to share something that had been weighing on her mind.
"Speaking of memories," Nayeon started, her voice soft but steady, "I know I shouldn't talk about it, but... Jeongyeon... How is she doing?" Nayeon asked, her eyes searching their faces for answers.
The mention of Jeongyeon's name instantly changed the mood in the room. Momo, Sana, and Jihyo exchanged quick and uneasy glance.
The three friends hesitated, their minds racing. They know the truth, but they weren't sure if they should reveal it. Momo was the first to speak, her voice trembling slightly. "Oh, she's... she's doing fine. Always hanging out with the 3 maknaes."
"Yeah, she's been busy," Jihyo added quickly, trying to back Momo up. "You know how she is, always a clean freak." She laughed weirdly.
Sana nodded, but her eyes darted around nervously. "Exactly, she's just... keeping herself occupied."
Nayeon narrowed her eyes, sensing something was off. "Really? She hasn't mentioned anything to any of you? No updates or anything?"
Momo, Sana, and Jihyo exchanged another round of worried glances. They knew Nayeon was suspicious, and they were running out of ways to cover up what happened.
"Well, you know Jeongyeon. She's always been a private person." Momo said.
"Yeah, you know how Jeongyeon can be," Jihyo said, trying to sound reassuring but failing. "Sometimes she just needs space. You know... After what happened between you two."
Nayeon studied their faces, her suspicion deepening. "Are you guys sure? It feels like you're not telling me something."
The room fell silent, Momo, Sana, and Jihyo looked at each other.
Sana finally broke the silence, "Nayeon, Jeongyeon is fine. Really. We've all been busy with our own lives, but she's okay. There's nothing to worry about."
Nayeon sighed, her suspicion still lingering but deciding not to go further. She could tell her friends were hiding something, but she didn't want to ruin the night by pushing too hard. "Okay," she said softly, trying to smile.
"I trust you guys."
