Hermione Granger was ecstatic.

After 2 months of a very educational and entertaining trip with her parents, she had returned back home to find a letter from her best friend Harry Potter, which said that Harry would be coming to pick her up the next day.

Hermione, Harry, and their other friend Jason had made a deal to spend the last month of summer with each other, before heading to their school, which began on September 1st. The thought of finally meeting her friends exited Hermione. Which is why despite being tired beyond words, she quickly started packing her books, along with her clothes, robes and other stuff that she needed.

By the night, she had finished packing everything up, and was now only waiting for the next morning to arrive. Hermione walked up to the window on her room and looked outside. The moon was shining rather brightly that night. If she remembered correctly, the next night was a full moon night.

Hermione's thoughts wandered to Jason, a werewolf, when she thought of the full moon. His memories brought about a sense of peace and relief on her mind, which was clearly reflected on her face. Hermione didn't have many female friends. Ever since she started studying at Hogwarts, Jason and Harry had been her first and best friend. Many people, girls specifically, thought that Hermione was only close to them so that she could take advantage of their fame and wealth and make one of the two boys fall for her.

That had been far from the truth, although not entirely. Hermione never felt any kind of romantic attraction towards Harry. For her Harry was like a little brother. Harry also felt the same way about Hermione; she knew it. As for Jason, however that wasn't the case.

Ever since her first Hogwarts year, Hermione had liked Jason romantically. Her feelings only kept on increasing over time, and by the end of her third year, she knew that she loved him. But, she couldn't say what Jason felt about her. Yes, he did show some signs of liking her, like holding her hand, taking up huge, life threatening risks for her, and even fighting with any student who spoke badly about her.

Despite all that, Hermione still wasn't sure. Jason was fiercely loyal to his friends, you see. Everything he did for Hermione, he would have done for Harry as well. There was no doubt about that. Which is exactly the reason Hermione was unsure. Did Jason really feel the same about her? Would he accept her as his romantic partner, if she told him how she felt?

Hermione had somehow gathered up enough courage to give Jason a quick peck on his lips last year, but she wasn't sure how he felt about that either. The two of them had never gotten a chance to talk about it.

Suddenly, someone knocked on Hermione's door, breaking her from her thoughts. She turned back to see her mother, Emma standing on the doorway, looking at her daughter with an amused look.

"So, who is he?" she asked with a smile.

"Who's who?" Hermione asked her back.

"It's Jason, isn't it?" Emma asked again.

"What do you mean it's Jason?" Hermione asked innocently.

Emma smiled at her daughter.

"Sweetie, I'm your mother," she said. "You can't hide anything from me."

"Hide what?" Hermione asked again, feigning ignorance.

"Seriously? You're going to be like that?" Emma asked.

"Like what?" Hermione asked back in an all too innocent voice, determined to not give any straight answer to her mother.

"Hermione!"

"Mum!"

Emma sighed. She sometimes forgot how annoying and stubborn her daughter could be.

"Fine, do as you wish," she said. "If you don't want to tell me, then don't. A piece of advice, though. Don't let him slip through your fingers. I've never seen such a peaceful look on your face. I would love to keep seeing it. So make sure you tell Jason how you feel about him before someone else takes him from you."

"Thanks for the advice, mum," Hermione smiled at Emma. "But tell Jason what?"

"Oh, bloody hell," Emma let out a loud sigh, but decided not to say anything to her daughter because she knew it'd be pointless.

"Goodnight, dear."

"Goodnight, mum."

After her mother left, Hermione took one last look at the moon, before deciding that she needed to sleep. She wasn't even sure if she could, given how excited she was. Hermione went towards her bed, passing the mirror. When she paused to look at it, Hermione was surprised at how much her appearance had changed over the past two months.

The freckles on her face had disappeared completely. Her usually bushy hair was not silky and smooth, while her two frontal buck-like teeth had become normal. This was all thanks to her Animagus form.

Last year, after learning that Jason was a werewolf, Hermione and Harry had decided to turn themselves into Animaguses. Harry's transformation had been compromised, so he had decided to do it again the next year. As for Hermione, she had completed the process and had turned into a fox.

However, she had later discovered that her animaus form wasn't a fox, but a Kitsune, an ancient Japanese creature that had the shape of a fox. This Animagus of hers gave Hermione some incredible powers like super strength, speed, reflexes and healing.

Due to her abilities to heal herself from any injuries, Hermione's freckles had also healed, even though they weren't completely injuries, or wounds. It also affected her looks and caused the transformation of her hair and teeth, while also making her skin fair and smooth.

Absolutely no one could deny the fact that Hermione Granger had become one of the, if not the, most beautiful girl in the Wizarding World.

Hermione walked away and opened her watch before keeping it on her nightstand and lied down on her bed. She was so tired that she instantly fell asleep.

The next evening, Hermione was sitting in the living room, waiting for Harry to arrive while reading a book on advanced magical spells. Her mother and father were upstairs, working on a thesis. Hermione looked over at the time. It was already 5:15, a quarter past the time that Harry mentioned he would be arriving at.

Hermione was getting really annoyed. She hated two things most of all; one: unpunctuality and two: someone keeping her away from her friends. And right know Harry James Potter was doing both.

'Where the bloody hell is he?' Hermione asked herself.

She was about to be answered as she suddenly heard a rumbling sound coming from the chimney of her living room. Unsure of what was going on, Hermione closed her fist and then opened it, bringing out her retractable claws, while her eyes shone with a bright yellow color.

She walked to the chimney and waited in front of it, ready to pounce on whatever came out of it. Then, someone fell out of the chimney and landed on their stomach with a loud thud.

Without wasting a single moment, Hermione jumped a bit and went towards the intruder, her claws ready to tear open whoever it was. However, before her blow could land, Hermione felt something stopping her. Hermione looked in front and saw that it was a sword, glowing with a bright blue color.

"Bloody hell, Hermione," said a voice that she recognized all too well. "Do you want to kill me, or something?"

"Harry?" Hermione asked. "How did you even come from the chimney?"

"Floo network, Hermione," Harry replied. "I thought you knew about it."

"Yes, I do know about it, but muggle houses aren't supposed to be connected to the floo network."

"That aside, are you really Hermione?" Harry asked her. "Where did your front teeth vanish off to? And what happened to the bush you called your hair?"

"It's a long story," Hermione replied.

Hermione got off of Harry and then offered him her hand. Harry stood up and cleaned the dust off of his clothes. Due to his previous comments, Hermione gave Harry a small punch on his shoulder.

"OUCH!" Harry bellowed.

"Oh, please, I didn't even hit you that hard," Hermione said to him.

"Well I'm sorry, but I am a normal human, and you are a bloody monster, Hermione!" Harry said to her. "Mortals can't be compared to Gods, damn it!"

Hermione smiled, rolled her eyes (classic Hermione), and pulled him towards her, before giving him a tight hug, which Harry gladly returned. After all it had been so long since they last saw each other.
