"Aghhhhhhhhh!"
The group of 10 people had teleported from top of a hill to a ground near to the Quidditch World Cup stadium using a portkey.
The kids of the group had been falling down rapidly, shouting and screaming. Hermione was also doing the same. Hermione hated flying. Anything that even came close to flying scared her. And now she felt as if she was on the air, with her world turning upside down, just waiting to land heavily on the ground.
She looked around and saw the others. Fred and George were near to each other, twisting and turning. Roland was from from everybody screaming with his eyes closed. Harry and Ginny were close to the other. And Jason, well let's just say that Hermione hadn't let go of his hand since she met him.
Jason looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile. Hermione wasn't sure what that meant but she knew that he would do something, so she just waited.
Suddenly, the ground came into view, just a few inches in front of her. Hermione braced herself for the impact, closing her eyes and clutching Jason's hand even more tightly. Jason waved his other hand above the ground, doing a non-verbal hovering spell. Just before they all hit the ground with a massive crash, they came to a halt.
Realizing she hadn't fallen down, Hermione opened her eyes slowly and saw that everyone, along with her, was floating just inches above the ground. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jason waving his hand over the ground.
Then, they fell down on their faces. The group turned around and looked up to see Cedric, Amos and Arthur seemingly sky-walk and land on the ground safely.
"That feels like cheating," Jason said, panting, while looking at the three men.
"I agree," Hermione said to him, breathing furiously. She noticed that Jason had let go of her hand. Suddenly, Hermione felt cold. It was a bit chilly, to say the least. Everybody else had been shivering with cold since morning, but Hermione hadn't. After meeting up with Jason, he had held her hand constantly, which distracted her from feeling even a bit of cold.
His hand had a strange warmth to it. It was a sort of warmth that was just right. It was comforting, Hermione noticed. Now, all of a sudden, she missed it. This didn't happen before, Hermione thought. No matter how much she liked him holding her hand, Hermione didn't completely miss it when Jason didn't do so. So why was this happening now? Had her feelings for Jason increased so much just in the span of a mere couple of months? Was this just a puberty thing? Or was it just really freaking cold?
Hermione had no idea. The logical part of her brain seemed to be off. The on part of her brain on the other hand was just focused on Jason.
"Herms." Hermione heard someone calling her, breaking her out of her thoughts. She realized that she had been staring at her hand for a long time. Hermione looked up to see Jason holding out his hand again for her to stand up
With a smile, Hermione took Jason's hand, sighing when she felt the same, familiar warmth, and stood up. The duo, still holding hands, looked around.
Harry, who stood up with the help of Cedric, was now offering a hand to Ginny. Ginny slipped her hand over his and then stood up. Turns out, Harry pulled her a little bit to help her up, which led to Ginny's head smacking Harry's chest.
They separated a bit awkwardly, before their eyes fell on each other.
"Those two seem to have gotten close," Hermione remarked, seeing her two friends staring at each other.
"Oh they have, alright," Jason said. "You can't imagine how much of a torture it was to see them doing this for two whole months."
"I don't even want to," Hermione laughed.
"It's clear that they like each other, but both are too afraid to admit it," Jason stated. "Especially Harry. At least Ginny admits that she likes him. Harry on the other hand claims that they only hold hands because they're friends. How can he not see that he-"
Jason's ranting suddenly stopped. Hermione turned around to look at him, and saw that he was staring at her with those blue eyes of his. Oh, those shining blue eyes that could one day be the death of her, eyes that she was sure she would drown in, if she could. Jason's eyes sparkled brightly as the sun rose behind Hermione.
Fred and George cleared their throats, making her look away from Jason. She saw that the twins and Cedric were looking at them in amusement.
"Anytime now, Jason," Cedric teased, making Hermione look back at Jason only to realize that he had still been staring at her.
"Jason," Hermione shook him, making him blink a few times.
"Sorry, what?" he said, looking around.
"Oh, no nothing, mate," Fred said in a teasing voice.
"Yeah, you don't have to worry about it," George added.
"Now-"
"If you two lovebirds are done-"
"We'd like to get to our camp-"
"Since we are all tired."
Fred and George spoke in turns, making the two blush at the word 'Lovebirds'.
"That's been going for quite a long time now," Cedric pointed at Harry and Ginny, who were in the exact same situation as Jason and Hermione.
"Hey!"
"That's our sister!"
"Stay away-"
"At least until you ask her out."
Ginny and Harry got as red as the hair on the Weasleys' heads.
"Come on, kids," Arthur called them. "Let's head to our tent."
Hermione turned to him and saw Amos and Arthur standing beside two other men.
"Come on, Ronald," Fred said to his younger brother.
"Yeah, you'll only get fatter if you sleep too much," George added.
Ronald was lying down on the floor, looking like a man who had just tasted alcohol for the first time in his life, and had instantly gotten high.
"Oh, Weasley junior, didn't notice you there," Jason said as the redhead stood up.
"I can't blame you Jason," Harry added to his friend's words. "Weasels are hard to spot, after all."
"What about a fat one?" Jason asked him. "That must be easier to find, right?"
Harry laughed out loud.
"Oh, I'll tell you what's easier to find, Jeyson," Ronald barked in reply. "Your, uhh.... your.... you...."
"Just stop, Ron, just stop," Jason said. "I don't think you, who can't distinguish between an apple and an orange, have a brain capable of thinking of insults."
"I CAN distinguish between an apple and an orange," Ron bellowed, seemingly insulted, as everyone was snickering at Jason's comment. Apart from Harry who was laughing out loud, leaning on Ginny. Hermione was doing her best to control herself from laughing like a mad woman.
"Oh, you can!" Jason said in a mock praise voice. "How wonderful for you, Ronald! Really! I am amazed at how smart you are!"
"Thanks," Ron said proudly, completely oblivious to Jason's sarcasm.
This time, Hermione couldn't control it. She laughed so hard, that she lost control of her feet and leaned on Jason.
"Kids!" One more shout from Arthur made everyone go towards him, except for Ron, who was still wondering why Hermione and the others were laughing.
