"Never do that again." Alexandra groaned at her best friend as he tenderly placed her on the ground. Peter chuckled as he bit into his food, his eyes protected by his goggles, while the fair haired Alex instead chose to hide her face into Peter's chest to prevent her face from getting harmed.

"You don't honestly expect me to go your speed, do you, Lexi?" Quicksilver scoffed playfully with a mocking tone before he suddenly stopped, surprising and relieving her at the same time. "What the....?"

She didn't have time to question her speedster best friend before he took off, disappearing from her sight. She gasped as she quickly dashed forward, only to see Peter using his incredible superspeed to get every breathing person inside the Mansion to safety, as it was destroyed from the inside. She swallowed, but knew that by the time she arrived at the front, Peter would have finished, so she opted to do just that.

Alex was a mutant, barely twenty-one years old, born with the ability to not only create pheromones and toxins, but she could also manipulate and communicate with plants and animals, something that she had done before she even realized what she was and how she came to be. She had known Peter Maxinoff for as long as she could remember, so when he asked her to join him on his quest to at least meet his father, she knew she had to go with him, only telling her parents she had a job to do. Alexandra and Peter got on well, she adored his humor and his wit and his intelligence, but nothing romantic had ever happened between them. Alexandra saw Peter as her brother; nothing more.

Despite some mutated people, as Alex had come to learn, she had a good childhood. Her dad had never been around, a bit like Peter's, but she gained a supportive stepfather at age eleven and he became her father in his place. He and her mother knew what their blonde daughter was but accepted her, eventually, even if Alexandra's mother had told her that he did not want to hear about her mutation. She didn't throw her out and call her a freak, but that acceptance only went so far. That was where Peter came in. He was her best friend, her confident, the one that she needed the most. She could never allow him to go out and have this adventure without her, now could she?

"Hey, Lex, did you see that?" Peter grinned as she reached them. She saw the students admiring the very beautiful Raven, who was wearing her true form, unlike the one she hid behind. "I was awesome."

"As always, Quicksilver." Alexandra held out her fist and he tapped it, making a whooshing sound. The two snickered.

"Where's Alex?" A young man suddenly ran up to them, his eyes covered by a pair of red tinted glasses as he searched blindly for his brother. "Where's Alex? Where's my brother?"

"I'm pretty sure I got everybody." Peter told him as Alexandra noticed a good looking redhead and a blue skinned mutant appear behind Scott Summers. She ignored the use of her own nickname, knowing he was speaking of the person he loved the most, the person that was like Peter to her.

"Alex was closest to the blast." Hank explained sadly but sincerely. "Scott-"

"No!" He cried out.

Jean and Kurt ran to follow Scott, and Alexandra sighed before doing the same, deciding to help the boy find his missing and possible deceased brother. As Scott and Jean spoke by a pile of stones from the ruins of their home, Alexandra stopped beside the mutant with the blue skin, unbothered by what made him different, merely curious. She liked those that looked different, not because they stood out but because they were unique. She looked like everyone else at the end of the day and she loved the idea of meeting someone that couldn't blend in. Blending in was so damn boring.

"What's your ability then?" She questioned as she opened a packet of bubblegum, offering him one. Kurt frowned but took one regardless, wondering who this girl was and where she came from. He didn't know what to do with it, as he had never had a bubblegum before, but seeing Alexandra with one in her mouth caused him to throw it in his own, smiling a tad when he saw the slight nod of approval in her head, as if she knew that he had struggled on what he was meant to do with it.
