Dell Parker [1]

She ignored the butterflies in her stomach when he appeared beside her, looking into the patient's room in front of them. He had delivered her newborn daughter two days beforehand, before the mother began bleeding and so Addison Montgomery rushed her to the hospital. Bonnie scrubbed in and helped save her life, and it went well. Now the patient was awake, sitting up with a bandage over her stomach and chest under her gown. But she was looking at her husband and five year old son, both of whom were welcoming the baby girl into their family. And now knowing that the patient was going to live, all Bonnie could think about was Dell Parker.

Dell was twenty-five years old, and a midwife at the practice not far from the hospital. He was attractive with dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes, he had a charming smile and a body to die for. Dr. Bonnie Taller was a general surgeon at St Ambrose, working under the Chief of Surgery, Charlotte King. She was the only friend Charlotte had before she started dating Cooper and began to befriend everyone else at the practice. She had met Dell when they were kids, but as they hit middle school, they began to drift apart. She had never met Heather, the mother of Dell's daughter, but she knew enough to know that the only good thing that came from that relationship was eight year old Betsy. and Dell were now friends again, only within the last two months everything had changed.

She had attended a party that was attempting to raise money for the hospital. Bonnie knew that Charlotte would drag her along if she didn't go herself, so she made sure Dell went, to have some fun, since Heather had Betsy for the weekend. She and Dell danced and a kiss almost happened, only it was interrupted unintentionally by Naomi, who needed Dell's help with a birthing mother. Ever since, an unspoken tension had lingered in the air. Bonnie had felt an attraction for him that she never had before.

Dell looked at her, as Bonnie forced herself to look at the patient with a soft smile. Dell almost sighed, wanting this woman longingly, but knew that he made a move and it didn't work out...it'll ruin everything. He adored her, he always had, but things were complicated. Betsy loved Bonnie, and if he broke Bonnie's heart, then Betsy would lose a friend. But Dell loved Bonnie, and he hated that he couldn't love her the way that he wanted to. He wanted to hold her, kiss her, be with her in a way that he hadn't been before. He wanted to run his fingers through her straight chocolate colored hair. He wanted to kiss her full kissable lips. He wanted to wrap his arms around her waist and tell her that she was all he thought about. He wanted this....

But he couldn't risk breaking her heart, because it meant breaking his own.

"I should get back to work." He suddenly said, tearing his eyes away from Bonnie. "I'll see you later."

She didn't even have a chance to respond before Dell was gone, and she that sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach returned. She had had a few boyfriends, she had loved before, yet this was different. What did Dell think that she did to him?

"Fight for him."

Bonnie jumped, turning to face the speaker, only for her eyes to meet Naomi Bennett's. "What?"

Naomi smiled softly, having walked up to stand beside her, as she had had a patient across the floor and had saw Bonnie and Dell standing together when she approached. "I can see it in your eyes. You love Dell. So before you overthink it, fight for him."

Bonnie frowned, looking to her white sneakers. "What if he doesn't feel the same way?"

Naomi snorted. "Trust me, I know Dell. He used to have a thing for me and he was never subtle about it. And he isn't subtle about his feelings for you either. Go for it."

Bonnie bit her bottom lip, but the more she thought about what she wanted, the better the idea seemed to become. She wanted Dell Parker, so she might as well go after him.
