The next morning,
The party lay sprawled around the basement fast asleep, all three girls were curled up on the sofa while the boys slept leaning against the couch. Everyone jolted awake at the knocking noise coming from the basement door- everyone except Sage who didn't lift her head.
Nancy and Jonathan rush down the stairs and Max looks over at Sage, she shakes her and notices the blood stain on the pillow. Nancy walks over and carefully lifts Sage's head to look at the back of it.
"You didn't clean her head from last night?" She exclaims.
Max looks at the sisters, El's face was still blood stained and Sage was pale, she took both their hands and went to the bathroom. She cleaned up both El's face and Sage's head before leading them back out.
"Has anyone heard from Hop?"
Jonathan asks looking at the sisters.
Sage closes her eyes and wipes her nose.
"He's going Illinois.. which Joyce."
"My mom?" Will questions.
"That's not our main concern right now." Nancy states.
She explains exactly what she saw with a lady called Ms. Driscoll- how she ate rat poison and when Nancy went to visit her that day her veins went black and she was screaming.
"It's the same exact thing that happened to Will last year, and look at this the body temperature"
Nancy shows them Mrs Driscolls charts.
"He likes it cold." Will says.
"Okay so Mrs. Driscoll, what time was the attack?" Mike asks.
"Last night, around 9."
"You waited all night to call?" Jonathan asks.
"You weren't there?" Will exclaims.
"Well I'm here now!" Jonathan replies.
"Hallelujah!" Nancy snaps.
"Ooh." Lucas cringes.
"Okay- so what time was your sauna test." Nancy changes the subject.
"Around 9." The group echos.
"That proves my theory! She's flayed- and so is Billy.. so if there is two, there has to be more."
"Heather.. Billy was doing something to her" El whispers.
"I'm sorry, who is Heather?" Nancy asks.
"She's a lifeguard from the pool." Max explains.
"Heather Holloway.. Tom."
Nancy and Jonathan say in unison.
"Come on." Nancy grabs her keys and the group follow her out the house.
They drive to the Holloway's house and ring the doorbell, they get no response so everyone turns their head to El. She tilts her head and the door clicks unlocked and swings open.
"Heather? Tom?" They call out.
The house was freezing and had a strong smell, they make their way to the kitchen and find cleaning chemicals spilt everywhere.
Jonathan picks one up.
"Do you think they're guzzling this shit?"
"I didn't eat chemicals.. this must be something new." Will states.
"They must be making something.. inside them." Sage wonders.
Nancy wanders to the dining room where the girls had stood not long ago, she bends down and spots the blood on the carpet next to a bottle of wine with blood stains.
They follow the blood splatters to the garage which was empty.
"They must've taken them somewhere.. Mrs. Driscoll, she kept saying that she needed to go back. What if the flaying is taking place somewhere- there must be a source somewhere right?" Nancy thinks.
"Somewhere he didn't want me and Say to see." El adds
"If we can find the source, maybe we can stop him. If we let Mrs. Driscoll go back she'll lead us right to it."
They get back in the car and drive to the hospital, Nancy leads the way in and attempts to walk straight past the receptionist.
"Woah, woah! Excuse me!" She shouts.
Nancy turns around innocently.
"Oh, I was just going to visit my grandma again- this is my family."
She points to the group.
"Extended!"
Lucas adds making Sage laugh.
"Two at a time." She snaps.
The group look at Nancy and Jonathan who set off into the elevator.
The rest of the group laid low in the waiting room, Sage and Will sat together while both 'couples' talked.
The two sat in comfortable silence in their own thoughts until the lights start to flicker and Will abruptly stands up.
"Say? Can you check on them?"
Sage nods and closes her eyes, she jumps at the sight of a huge gooey monster running full speed at Nancy.
"We need to go."
They ignore the receptionist and run straight up to the floor they were on, Sage and El grab hands before bursting the door open, the disgusting monster was hovering over a terrified looking Nancy- Jonathan slides in the room his forehead covered in blood and sweat all over his body.
The girls throw the monster with all their might at each side of the wall before throwing it far out the window, Jonathan grabs Nancy as the others rush out of the hospital to watch the monster turn to liquid and float down the drain.
This chapter was a bit shorter sorry!!
