It had been a few days since I attacked the SkyWings. I am currently perfecting my flying skills so the trick those two Skywings used the first time won't work the second time.
But of course, I will stick to a 'one or two witnesses' rule. Make sure to always leave at least one alive to tell the tale and spread the word of me.
Speaking of, I wonder if any tales and rumors have started spreading by now?
----------------------------------------------{POV: SkyWing soldier]----------------------------------------------
I woke up at the healers as my wounds were being checked, to my left is my surviving comrade. The images of that event are still fresh in my head, horrors that I will never forget.
I see some royal guards enter the room. "You are being taken to see her majesty, Queen Scarlet." Oh, that can't be good.
{an hour later}
Me and my comrade are outside of Queen Scarlet's throne room. The doors open and Queen Scarlet is there, sitting on her throne.
"Well, well, well, look who it is. Soldier Mountain and Soldier Falcon." She gets up and starts walking towards us. "Would any of you like to explain where THE REST OF THE RECON PLATOON IS?!" She yells angrily.
At that moment, I recall the horrid scenery, the sounds, and those two grey birds. "Gone, reduced to shreds." I involuntarily speak out is a straight tone. After seeing such power and ferocity, Queen Scarlet doesn't scare me as much anymore, but I'd rather not say that to her face.
"And how did that happen? What are these scars I see on you?" I manage to recollect myself and start telling her the tale.
"Two strange birds, they came out of nowhere, ripped us apart like paper. They didn;t have claws or wings but when they looked at us I saw my comrades get shredded to pieces..." Queen Scarlet nods thoughtfully. "Mhm. I believe you..."
Thank goodne- "NOT! THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE MOST FAKE REPORT I'VE EVER HEARD!" Three moons save me. She turns to my comrade Falcon and asks him next. "And do you confirm this to be true?"
"Yes, my Queen, it's true! I saw them with my own eyes. They were large and made a shrieking sound each time they passed over our heads!" That seemed to get her attention. "Two of you saying the same thing, not to mention the state you were found in and the strange wounds... Hm... I'll have to think this over, for now. GUARDS! Throw these two into the dungeon!"
Before I can reach the Guards are dragging me and Falcon towards the dungeon. So long as I don't have to deal with them again, I'll take it.
------------------------------------------[POV: Queen Scarlet]-----------------------------------------
I watch as the two soldiers are dragged off. I remember the report that was sent to me about them appearing and crash-landing on the shore of the MudWing kingdom.
Now that I have gotten a better look at them, I notice a few peculiarities about their wounds. For one, no dragon could make slashes so thin.
Second were the few tiny holes in their wings, it may not look like much, since their wings will heal with, but their numbers and size make them all the more stranger. T
Third was the way they answered my question and on top of that, the near perfect detail of their story. Perhaps it may not be an excuse? Regardless of how preposterous it seems...
I'm never quite listen to anyone but myself, but something just seemed off with those two.
I am pulled from my thoughts as another of my Royal guards dashes in. "You majesty! A scavenger has broken into the treasure room and has taken off with some loot!" This sends me into a rage.
