Loki's Children

F you canon Fenrir is Loki's child. Also, just Thor: Ragnarök is very not mythologically accurate, so we are ignoring that cause I had this idea. Also yeah Hel isn't gonna be Thor an Loki's sister in this because A: in Norse mythology she's Loki's daughter and B because we're ignoring Thor: Ragnarök. A Norse Mythology dump at the end just because.

The first of time anyone heard of Loki's many children was when Peter decided to ask him randomly in the middle of an invasion if the myths were true.

"Hey, Loki is it true you're a mother?" Spider-Man asked as swung from a building and used his momentum to kick an alien into a web he had made. Tony who was next to the spider shooting one of the attackers with his repulsors stopped and blinked at him trying to process Peter's words.

"Yes," Loki replied. "And he is a very handsome stallion." Loki's voice held a certain amount of pride even as one of his knives very violently slashed across the chest of another alien splashing black blood across his armor.

As soon as the fighting was done, and everyone actually had enough time to process the interaction Thor was clapping Loki on the back and began boasting about how his nephew was the fastest horse to live while Peter was beaming and listening intently. Everyone else had confusion written across their features.

"Wait so your child is actually a horse?" Steve asked after a couple of minutes of Thor's boasting.

"And you're his mother?" Sam added.

"I'll have you know I can be any gender I want. What's the point of being a shapeshifter if you can't change gender at will?" Loki asked, seemingly offended.

"Sorry," Sam said. "I didn't mean to be rude."

"You're fine, but yes I am in fact technically Sleipnir's mother in the sense that I birthed him. And yes he is in fact a stallion."

"How does that work? He's a horse. Did you screw a horse? How are you not dead?" came the spiel of questions from around the room.

"Well, I was a mare at the time of his conception and birth."

Loki walked away before the Avengers could ask any more questions about his children.

The next time one of his children were brought up it was because he pounced on the god while they were traveling through woodlands in Norway searching for a Hydra base. The wolf was gigantic with matte black fur.

The Avengers feared for their fellow member, but when he appeared from under the animal unharmed, they relaxed slightly. Thor went straight to the animal and began patting its fur. Loki managed to get out from under it a quick scratch under the jaw before greeting him.

"Hello, Fenrir. How are you?" he asked.

"Yes, how are you nephew?" Thor questioned.

"Loki" said Natasha carefully, "is this another of your children?"

"Of course can't you tell?" he responded.

"No, no I can't," she replied with a shake of her head.

They continued on their way after a couple more minutes where the two gods had a seemingly one-sided conversation with the wolf.

The third time it happened the Avengers were resigned to Loki having weird children.

"So, if Sleipnir and Fenrir are real does that mean Jörmungandr is also real?" Tony asked. When the others gave him look, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I looked it up after Peter brought up Sleipnir."

"Of course," Loki replied. "Jörmungandr is very real. He is very good at what he does."

"If you mean beating me up," Thor grumbled.

"Oh, don't be grumpy Thor he likes you. He just resents you catching him."

Thor grumbled a little bit more but conceded eventually.

The fourth time was almost just as dramatic as Fenrir's appearance but slightly more hilarious. A woman who had a strong appearance to Loki appeared in the common rooms loudly yelling out, "Father!!!"

"I've already told you Hel I am sorry that I missed our weekly tea. I'll make it up to you I promise," Loki replied not looking up from his book.

"And who is this?" Clint asked.

"This is my daughter Hel. She rules over the realm of Hel. She's the goddess of death."

"Of course. Nice to meet you Hel."

"Yes well. You will most likely never enter my realm," the goddess replied. "So this may be the only time we will meet."

"Am I immortal or something?"

"No. She means you will likely end up in Valhalla rather than Hel," Loki said tiredly. "She does that sometimes."

This was short sorry. Anyway, time for a Norse mythology dump because this isn't even really accurate to Norse mythology.

In Norse myth Loki and Odin are actually blood brothers I believe at least according to some stuff through a blood pact not biologically. So that makes Loki, Thor's uncle of a sorts.

Loki is considered a part of the Aesir and a Jotunn because of his giant father Farbauti and non-giant (but I'm not sure exactly what she is) mother Laufey. No, frost giants don't exist in Norse Mythology. Jotunn are giants though. He is a chaotic neutral with his main goal just to cause chaos.

In Norse mythology Loki is actually chained with the intestines of his son Navi, after killing the god Baldr with mistletoe. He was chained to a cave on Midgard and a snake placed over him dripping venom. His wife Sigyn went with him and catches the venom in a wooden bowl. When it is full she empties it. The venom doesn't stop though and falls directly onto Loki. This causes the whole earth to shake. So I guess this was the Norse's way of explaining earthquakes. He will remain that way until the end of the world aka Ragnarök.

Ragnarök is the end of the world and the gods. A complete and total destruction. Every god is destined to die in some way and to another. Fenrir even has a destiny to break from his chains and swallow Odin.

Fenrir is chained up because the gods fear his strength. The chains are made from a variety of different things including: the sound of a cat's footsteps, the beard of a woman, and the breath of a fish. While he was being chained, he bit off the god Tyr's hand. During Ragnarök in addition to swallowing Odin he will also swallow the sun. Fenrir will meet his end to Vidar a son of Odin who avenges his father. Fenrir is one of three siblings which includes Jörmungandr and Hel. They are the children of Loki and the giantess Angerboda.

Sleipnir came from Loki distracting a stallion from completing his job so the gods would not have to reward giants for completing a wall before the end of winter. Sleipnir is the fastest horse to live and has eight legs.

Jörmungandr surrounds the world and bites his tail. His main enemy is Thor. He also creates tidal waves and such because he is trapped underneath the oceans.

Valhalla is where worthy heroes picked by Valkeryie await Ragnarök where they will fight and die a second and permanent death. Heimdall is destined to kill and be killed by Loki.
